  • Full Detailed Tree Review
Color: Green Size: 6ft - 1000 Tips
Details: My Homegear Luxury 1000 tip 6 foot tree arrived in a box that was approximately 10 inches (w) x 39 inches (l). The metal stand (shaped like an X) and the 3 eye screws to hold the tree in place, came in a plastic bag in the box and the three parts of the tree were neatly placed in the box below it. It also came with some instructions, but you definitely do not need to be a genius to figure it out without them. From the bottom of the metal stand, to top tip of the tree, I measured about 71 inches. From the bottom of the metal stand to where the actual bottom limbs/branches start, I measured about 10 inches. Measuring across the base (the bottom limbs of the tree, across) when fully fluffed, measured about 42 inches. First Impression: The tree looked really disappointing, but as advised by most reviews, you have to put some real work into it. When assembled, initially my tree was a little crooked (I was able to bend it back into shape), and despite the bottom two pieces of the tree being very sturdy, the top bit rather scrappy and clearly would not be able to support the weight of any heavier ornaments. Assembly: Putting my tree together was super simple. The tree did shed a bit (pictured), but not horribly. This tree when fully assembled is very light (easy for an adult to pick up and move the entire tree on their own) and as you decorate of fluff, you are able to rotate both the bottom and middle parts of tree around easily. The top part of tree cannot really rotate because when you stick it into the base pole, it has a square connector that keeps it in place, the other two pieces have a round connector (best way I can explain it). When you put the three parts together, they are all fully assembled already on the sections, and all you need to do is let gravity allow the majority of the limbs to fall into place on their own, but absolutely make sure you look towards the center pole of the tree and gently pull down any pieces that have not fallen on their own, down and into their proper place, so that when you fluff your tree, you won't see gaps because you've not got the branches in the right place. Making the tree full: Okay, assembly is easy, fluffing your tree will take time. I'll repeat that. Fluffing your tree...will...take...time. I made sure to note how long it took, and I am not kidding when I say, from assembly to my final product, it took 1 hour and 15 minutes of fluffing and pulling and rotating the tree to get it to look like it did. It's 1000 tips for a reason...and that reason is, you will need to pull out, and fluff each of those 1,000 tips of the tree individually if you want any type of fullness out of your tree. Ignore this step, and your tree will look very scrappy minus the 's.' My personal experience decorating: I definitely wanted more height out of my tree, so I put it on a 2 foot box to give it more height. I have a total of 300 lights on my tree and that was enough for each section to be well lit. I purchased all my decor from 99 cents/dollar tree/Walmart. Since the top bit of the tree was so scrawny looking, I placed 6 tree picks and 2 tree stems there to make it full jamming them in closest to the center pole but the top bit is still the weakest/wobbly part of the tree. When I put my very cheap and very light star on top, I had to use 4 top limbs squished together in order to support even that tiny weight. Roughly, there are 3 garlands, 25 bulb ornaments, 8 tree picks, 2 tree stems, 25 bulb ornaments, 9 bows, 1 star, I used 2 types of ribbons (total of 40 ft) to make my ribbon curls, and 50 other ornaments. About 20% of my tree which is facing a wall, is not decorated because no one will see it. The top bit of tree needs light ornaments, but the bottom 2 sections can probably hold heavier weight ornaments (all of my ornaments were very light, except for a few heavy jingle bells). Overall: If the top bit of the tree was a bit stronger and fuller, I would have given this a five, but this was a 4 for me because of that, but otherwise, this tree met my expectations. I was really impressed with the bottom two sections of the tree once they were fluffed in how full and sturdy they are. I will say, I don't see this tree lasting more then say 5 years because the hinge construction for the limbs doesn't seem like the best, but time will tell. ... show more

  • Decent product
Color: Green Size: 6ft - 1000 Tips
Top of the tree is a little bent but I just got it before Christmas so I am keeping it. Looks good and dense though. It's heavy and not flimsy at all.

  • Very pretty
Color: Green Size: 6ft - 1000 Tips
I see trees of this quality at local stores for two or three times the price sometimes even higher! It really was a good value for the price. The bottom of it is something to be desired hard to cover up with a tree skirt. It's very obvious that it's not a real tree but it's still very pretty especially when it's decorated. Not going to find one like this for that price at a local store that's for sure, even on sale they were way higher priced. All in all I'm very glad I purchased this. ... show more

  • 4 years later, still love it!
I bought this tree 4 years ago for $36. Is it the sturdiest tree? No. Is it the best value for the money and perfect for small spaces? Yes and yes! Once you get everything on the tree, it looks far more expensive than it actually is. Definitely recommend. 💯

  • Little Short but Still Very Awesome!
This tree is super cute. I am confident you won’t find another tree that’s this awesome for what you’re spending! I’m a cheapie and I definitely shopped around. It’s very easy to assemble! There are only three layers so I chose to unfold and fluff each layer before putting the next on. The tree does shed slightly when fluffing but nothing a dustpan can’t collect. I gave this review 4 stars simply because the tree is 1000% not six foot. I am 5’2” and this tree stood just a few inches taller. Guessing the tree is 5’8” or so. HOWEVER, a few inches shorter than expected didn’t phase how much I like it 😊 I still say BUY! ... show more

  • Great for the Price
I was actually surprised at how nice this tree was for the price. I was expecting it to be more of a sickly-green color, but it's actually not at all. It also has the realistic brown specks that I was hoping for, which was another pleasant surprise. It took me about an hour to set up, but only because I'm super picky about how the branches went. It isn't as full as a high-end tree, but it's also $100+ cheaper, so I'm not complaining. Not really sure how I'm going to store it, though, as they must've vacuum sealed it into that box or something. But that's more a me problem than a problem with the product! UPDATE: So, it's totally possible to get it back in the box. It's actually not even all that difficult. Just separate the pieces, fold the branches in as much as you can, then put the middle in first, with the branches facing down. It's a little tricky, but it works. Then place the bottom piece with the plastic stand pieces removed in with the branches facing up (stand part goes in first). Push that down as far as it can go (I had to use a gallon jug of water as leverage on the 'trunk' pipe), then cram the top piece of the tree on top. You can even close the box. It took me about five minutes, and I'm not exactly the strongest gal out there. I don't think any of these other reviewers actually even tried to get it back into the box, at all. So off I go to store my tree until next year. P.S. If you're on the edge over buying this tree, here's your sign to just do it. ... show more
