I researched artificial Christmas trees for quite a long time before deciding on this blue spruce balsam hill unlit Christmas tree. The tree is beautiful & seems to be very well made. I liked it so much that I bought my daughter's family one too. I like how the tree isn't a big triangle. It goes in & out all the way down like a real Christmas tree would do. I like how there is space in between the branches for ornaments to dangle. I also like how I can bend a branch a little bit to keep an ornament where I want it to stay. There is very little shedding with this tree too, but unfortunately I did lose 2 small pieces while fluffing the branches. The tree comes in a box & the bottom 2 sections are tied together, but when u release it the branches gently fall down & apart. The tree WILL take a lot of time for you to fluff though. I sat on a small children's chair to fluff the bottom section & didn't put the middle section on until I was done fluffing the bottom branches. The tree does turn around in its base so I just sat there on my lil chair & gently pulled it around as I worked. Since the middle section of the tree was higher, I used a kitchen chair. It took me about an hour & a half to fluff the whole tree & my back did hurt a little bit afterwards but I am 65 yrs old so old age may be a factor. I think since the tree was brand new & had never been opened before, that next year the branches prob wont take as long to fluff. The top of the tree branches are wired on & not hinged which I suspect is normal for artificial Christmas trees. I tried holding that part in my lap & fluffing the branches but eventually had to put it on the tree while standing on a small chair to finish it up (but I'm short at 5'4"). I don't like how the top of the tree looks. If you'll notice from the video, it's kind of like a big clump. I'll hafta wait & see if the tree I bought my daughters family does the same thing. My husband likes how easy the tree was to put into the base. You just put the bottom section in and the other layers are straight all the way up. With our old tree, he had to fight getting the tree up straight every year.

I wanted a full tree for my wedding dinner as it was a couple weeks before Christmas. I read reviews and got mixed reactions of good and bad. I decided to give it a try as the price was still comparably reasonable to other trees of the same height that boasts them being full and lifelike. I took the gamble and bought it. I got the 7.5" unlit tree and it arrived on time. We opened it and began putting it together without reading the instructions (I'm too impatient for instructions, and figured if I needed a manual to put up a Christmas tree then it would not be worth it). It was really easy to put together, the tree came with 2 pairs of stretchy gloves so your fingers wouldn't get scratched during the fluffing process, I thought that was not needed but was awful kind to include. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and being a professional decorator I got to fluffing out every limb on that tree. It was easy. I wanted a full tree so didn't even realize if the fluffing process was too long as I would take as much time needed to get it just right. I don't recall it being over an hour to fluff the complete tree, but when it was done, I was pleaaaased! The tree was very full to where you could not see through it before applying the decorations, if others claimed it was otherwise, then I would suggest them to fluff the limbs properly. The tree also looked very lifelike and I was totally happy with my purchase. Now, I love to load up tons of decor on my tree and this tree stood to the weight. I also loved that I was able to spin the tree while it stood on its stand, it's almost like it was on a lazy Suzan carousel. I am truly pleased with the product and was happy I decided to purchase it, my tree looked beeeautiful! And so I do recommend others to buy it. I have not tried to fit the tree into the storage bag provided as it is still up, but even if it doesn't fit like others say, it is still a good buy and not a deal breaker for me. I shall be purchasing a couple more trees as I shall be donating decorated trees to some of my top clients, I know they will be pleased.

Superior quality. Worth every dime. Right out of box… set up in about 5 minutes. Packaged very well. Order arrived early! All tree parts labeled, easy to read and understand instructions. Came with two sets of “branch gloves” to use when I start to fluff the branches. Comes with a vinyl type storage bag that looks sturdy if you choose to use it. I am impressed with the sturdiness and superior quality of this tree. I got the unlit tree and will purchase my own LED lights. There is a reason this brand of tree is expensive…quality cannot be matched. Even though it is not decorated yet.., it is a beautiful tree. Excellent value for the money.

This is my first fake tree and I spent a lot of time trying to find a good one. It’s the middle of the line for this brand and I felt like it was definitely worth the price and held up to the description. Set up was super easy, you do have to “fluff” the branches but it took me maybe a total of 10 minutes (still less time than picking out a real one!) the fullness is very nice and the branches are sturdy. The needles are pretty nice, they’re thick and look pretty realistic. I was worried they would look super fake, the photo in the listing made me a little nervous, but they look better in person. The only thing I’d mention it the height of the tree is about half a foot off in the sense the last 6 inches is a single branch for your star or angel. If you’re wanting a true 6.5ft I’d consider doing the 7.5 and bending or removing the top branch to so you don’t lose the height. Overall I’m thrilled with the tree and would definitely buy it again.

Until this year, I always went to a tree farm, but this year weather and other factors prevented that trip. So I did what I swore I would never do and bought from Balsam Hill, a nine foot classic blue spruce, , one recommended by Wirecutter. It came in two well packed boxes. I am delighted with the ease of assembly and the appearance. With my lights and decorations, it looks like a real tree. I had one problem where the directions did not match what I had, but a quick call to Balsam Hill customer service explained what to do. The woman was warm and friendly, happy to help. No my room does not have tree smell, but it was easier to deal with than a real tree.

I just finished assembling and “fluffing” this tree and it exceeds my expectations!!! I purchased the unlit version of this tree. I almost didn’t buy this tree because of some of the reviews complaining about gaps and not being full but I am very happy that I pulled the trigger anyway. I am very picky about a tree being full and even! My wife says I have Christmas tree OCD. The manufacturer claims 1.5-2 hrs of fluffing I believe....and for the first assembly, I feel this might be a bit low. This tree is extremely full if you spend the time to get it that way. I do not have a single gap in my tree and it is even from top to bottom. Now as I said earlier, I am very picky so it took me 3 hours and it looks beautiful! Things shift during shipping so some of the branches may not be exactly in the original configuration....but very easy to adjust....here is how I assembled this tree and it worked great for me: Insert the lower section into the stand and lower the branches....leave the bottom row down and use the red ribbon tie that came with the tree and tie up the other rows....now fluff the bottom row and when satisfied, lower the next row and so on until the tree is assembled....you won’t need long sleeves to worry about getting scratched. While you are fluffing each row, don’t be afraid to bend the branches slightly, left,right or up and down to get them where they need to be. I would grasp the branch firmly near the “trunk” and adjust it as necessary. Another note....some of the branches have 2 smaller branches on them and you have to bend those out “fan them” to achieve a full tree and again, bend and place them to achieve fullness. In the end, if you want your tree to look full and beautiful, it takes some time. This is my first Balsam Hill and the first time I have spent $329 on a tree but it is worth every penny! If it lasts me 8-10 yrs....I feel it will have paid for itself. I hope that my review helps current owners as well as potential owners....

A few hundred dollars spent, 90 minutes of condescension, 2 hang ups, and long processing times is all it takes for you to not have a Christmas tree this year. I ordered the 6.5ft unlit classic blue spruce, and when fully set up, stand and all, it came in a whopping 5'9". Nine inches may not sound like a lot, but it's the difference between being over my head or under my nose (not to mention being Division III vs. starting NBA). Call customer service. Hung up on. Call back and after 50 minutes of dismissive arguments, I'm told that it may only be 69-in. based on "my system" (you know, the Imperial Measurement System), but tough because every tree listed at 6.5ft (78-in.) will measure that tall. I'm also told the Federal Trade Commission and Truth and Advertising aren't really a thing, and if they were, they wouldn’t care. He knows, he was a paralegal. My options are then spelled out: 1) Deal with it and keep the wee tree. If I don't like it, donate it (I'm not kidding), but there would be no refund 2) Get a refund, minus an exorbitant shipping and restocking fee for their labors in deception 3) Return the tree and get a credit to spend more money with this provenly deceptive company and get a bigger tree. He recommends a 7.5ft tree, because that might be 6.5ft according to my (and the rest of the U.S.'s) system of measurement. Oh, and I certainly won't have it for this Christmas. At this rate, maybe I'll have a St. Patrick's Day tree. Over the course of this conversation, I asked to talk to a manager 4 times. Manager request 1: My manager is busy. Manager request 2: It could be a while. Your time is valuable. You don't want to wait. I'd call back. Manager request 3: Ok, I'll go ask. (On hold again.) He doesn't want to talk to you. Manager request 4: Fine, you can wait. (Put on hold for 30 minutes, hung up on.) Call back and fight my way through to a manager (after another wait period). Manager picks up and swears his employees would never confirm this deception (they did, repeatedly). And ultimately, Amazon should return my tree. Despite their listing false information, it's not their problem.
