  • This thing works like a charm. Saves me counter space and provides easy access to my blades.
I love everything about this product. It takes up minimal counter space unlike butcher block style products. It is solid with awesome magnetic hold and it's so pretty. It is heavy so it will never flip over, easy to clean surface and the wood really is gorgeous.

  • Beautiful design and highlight of my kitchen Beautiful design and highlight of my kitchen
This is a really nice knife block that I wasn’t expecting to now be the star of my kitchen! The wood grain is beautiful and the magnetic area seems strong but still easy to remove my knives when needed. The size is perfect for our small 4 piece set, we added an additional set on the backside. I liked the included screwdriver, really made for an easy assembly! ... show more

  • Seems very good on first use Seems very good on first use
Getting one thing out of the way first: I have a problem. I love knives. I can't stop looking at, comparing, and buying knives. I have so many more knives than a professional chef might ever need. Let alone an amateur home cook. But I can't help myself. My wife doesn't get it either. I have a wall magnet, which has always featured a rotating cast of my A-squad knives. But it keeps getting crowded, and I keep rotating out knives I like and occasionally use, but don't reach for every day. At first, I put some blade-guards on the B-team, and threw them into a drawer. But found every time I needed one of them, I'd be fishing around all over the place trying to remember where I put them. These are things like my carving fork, my Nakiri, my tomato knife, and my stupidly heavy and large cleaver. But when you need them, you need them. So I decided to find a solution to my not-always-used, but still-want-to-readily-find knives. This seems a perfect solution. On here I have all the aforementioned blades, plus my paring knife, my boning knife, my bread knife, my kitchen sheers, and my honing steel. With plenty of more room if I end up needing it. Which I almost certainly will. Because, if I didn't make it clear, I love knives. I'm looking at them now. Do I need them? Absolutely not. Do I need a place to put them when I buy them? Of course. I'll probably buy one after I'm done writing this review. That's how much of a problem I have. A couple of notes: This seems pretty well put together. Mentions in other reviews of wobbliness lead me to believe they're not tightening the three included screws as tight as they need to be. I used a power-driver and torqued it down until the clutch said no more, and it didn't strip out the holes. Tighten those puppies down. If I find an issue later, I may rough up the surface and put some wood glue in there and use some heavier duty screws, but so far it doesn't seem like it needs it. The magnet is varying degrees of strong, depending on your knives. Mine are mostly all good-quality steel, so they slap right up there, and hold tight. But if you have cheap knives, you might find the magnet not strong enough. Maybe? I haven't seen a problem. The videos show people "unsheathing" the knives by pulling them straight up like you might with a regular knife block. Twisting them off seems to work just fine, and I don't have a ton of overhead clearance, so I'll keep doing that. I can only see that being an issue if your knives aren't full-tang and there's a possibility of the handle twisting off. Again, no idea. It looks good. It feels good. For the price, it's hard to argue against any of it. Durability? Who knows? But I think with some regular wood treatment, it should be fine. Recommended. ... show more

  • Great knife block Great knife block
Love it! It’s simple but sturdy. It looks great on my counter and I still have plenty of space to add more knives on the other side. The magnet is strong.

  • It werks but it wobbles.
For far too long, I had endured the frustration of rummaging through a drawer full of knives, each protected by individual sheaths. The inconvenience of this arrangement prompted me to explore alternative storage solutions. Upon discovering this magnetic knife block, I eagerly decided to give it a try. The block itself is notably substantial, a reassuring quality that prevents it from toppling over when a knife is removed. Its design is remarkably straightforward: two wooden pieces joined at right angles by a pair of screws. The magnet embedded within is impressively strong, securely holding knives in place. To retrieve a knife, one simply pulls it upwards or twists it to release it from the magnetic grip. The block can accommodate a decent number of knives, depending on their size. I have managed to fit an eight-inch Chinese cleaver, an eight-inch chef's knife, several utility knives, and even a dough scraper (which, to my delight, adheres firmly to the magnet). Assembly was a breeze. The magnetic knife block is thoughtfully designed, with one minor exception. Upon completion of the assembly process, I noticed that the block exhibited a disconcerting wobble, despite my efforts to tighten the screws. The root of the issue lies in the block's reliance on two screws for support, coupled with a lack of notches to secure the base in place. To rectify this problem, I applied wood glue, commonly used in cabinetry, to both the base and the block portion, then fastened them together with the provided screws and allowed them to dry overnight. This solution effectively eliminated the wobble, preventing the need for a return. All in all, this magnetic knife block is a commendable product, provided that the wobble issue is addressed. With a few simple adjustments, it can transform the organization of your kitchen, offering a convenient and stylish solution for storing your knives. The color maybe a bitt naff for your taste but I purchased it for it's function. ... show more

  • How did I not know about this before? Total Game Changer! How did I not know about this before? Total Game Changer!
For years I have stored my Cutco knives in a cutlery block from the same manufacturer. These knives were very expensive and are of excellent quality, so I wanted to preserve them forever (they do have a lifetime warranty). I purchased some of them over 50 years ago and have since added to my collection. I recently sent all of them back to Cutco to be re-sharpened, so now they are like brand new (some were even replaced). I then decided to learn more their specific use and preserving their quality. It was then I learned of using a magnetic knife block holder (recommended in a video by the manufacturer, but sadly they don't sell), in addition to their own knife blocks. While their cutlery block has well served its purpose for many years, it took up considerable countertop space in my small kitchen and some of them I had to store in a drawer (highly not recommended). That's when I started looking for something to accommodate all my knives and be totally accessible without taking up a lot of space. In my search, I came across this Home Kitchen Magnetic Knife Block Holder and decided to give it a try since it was reasonably priced, it shipped same the same day and the reviews were all pretty good. It was very easy to put together simply by attaching the base with the included screwdriver and screws. It took me all of about 5 minutes to secure it to the holder (I am a female in my 70s). I was amazed, once I started placing my knives on it as to how many knives, it could actually accommodate. The magnet securely holds my knives in place and I now have immediate access to all of them. Oh and bonus, they look amazing all neatly displayed! I am attaching photos showing both sides. ... show more

  • All my favorite knives are easy to find and held securely to the knife block. All my favorite knives are easy to find and held securely to the knife block.
Previous to getting this knife block, I kept all of my knives in drawer and covered with blade protectors. My favorite chef knife was always on top and easy to find. When I needed a different knife, I had to search through the drawers and remove the blade protector to see which knife was in it. When I discovered this magnetic knife block, my hesitation in buying it was where to put it since the size of the board isn't mentioned in the description. I did decide to purchase this knife block, and I love it. The size of the block is 12" wide by 9" high, and the base is 13" wide by 4 1/2" wide by 1" high. So the total height of the block is 10". The block comes with the magnetic block and base, 4 screws (1 extra), and a Philips screwdriver. I put it together in a matter of 5 minutes or so. Some reviews mentioned the screws stripped easily, but I didn't have that problem and the block is stable. If it gets wobbly in the future, I don't think it would be a problem to replace the wood screws. At this point, I am totally happy with this block. I have 6 knives on one side and 5 knives and a scissors on the other side. I still have some knives in drawers, but the ones I most look for are on this block. I have had no problem with the knives or the scissors slipping. You just have to make sure the tang of the knives are on top of the board and the blade is flat on the board. As you can see in my pictures, the knives on this block are much easier to find than those in the drawer with blade covers. Whether or not your knives stick well to this magnetic block will depend on the metal composition of the blades. Blades with iron and carbon steel stick very well. Pure stainless blades will not stick well as stainless has a very low content of iron. The knives I currently have on this block are Shun, Wusthof, Victorinox, Misen, and a couple less expensive Japanese knives. UPDATE 08/19/22: I have been using this magnetic knife block for about 3 months, and have my favorite knives on it. This has made finding my knives so much easier. I no longer have to search through a drawer of knives in blade protectors. I can find the knife I want to use, rinse and dry it when I am done with it, and then put it back on the block. I would honestly never go back to putting knives with blade protectors in a drawer or even using the conventional knife block. I put my conventional knife block in the donation box. UPDATE 12/12/22: I have been using this magnetic knife block for about 7 months or so, and still couldn't be happier with it. I removed the scissors to make room for more knives, and it now holds 13 of my favorite knives. At this point in time, the block does not wobble at all, and all of my knives stay securely on it without slipping. I so love that all of my favorite knives are available to me without having to dig through a drawer. UPDATE 09/01/23: I have had this knife block for about 1 1/2 years, and I still love it. It securely holds my favorite knives and keeps them handy. Although with conventional knife blocks you can see only the handles of the knives, with this knife block, you can see the entire knife. This makes it so much easier and faster to choose the knife you want to use. At this point, it still holds my knives, keeps them handy, and I don't have to search for the knife I want to use. At this point, I couldn't be happier with this magnetic knife block and would definitely recommend it. I will update this review if my opinion changes. I hope this review was helpful for you. ... show more

Loved the wood, it was easy to set up (although you might need strong hands to tighten the screws. It is beautiful and doesn't take too much space. The knives easily cling to the magnetic very sturdy wood. The price was an extra bonus.
