Top Amazon Reviews

  • A high quality, inexpensive, area rug.
When one reviews inexpensive (cheap) products, one needs to approach star ratings with that point in mind. What this is not is a twenty-five hundred dollar, hand knotted, imported area rug. What this rug is, is an inexpensive, machine made, budget minded area rug which is imported from Turkey and the five stars given takes the above into consideration. First impressions: It looks great on the floor. Since it's very thin backed, it does need time to relax when first unrolled. We've had it for a week and it's settling into place nicely. There's still evidence of the little humps an area rug of this type gets from being rolled up tightly for shipping purposes. The rugs, without trouble, have been vacuumed using a battery operated stick broom as opposed to a full size, plug-in upright. I'll take one of the rugs out to the patio and let them sit in the afternoon sun and see if that helps the rug humps relax a bit more. General thoughts: We bought three of these area rugs. The two we've so far received were the smaller (3'7" X 5'2") rugs. The larger 8' X 11' rug should arrive the end of next week. Before installing (moving furniture) we'll be sure to give it some hot patio sun time. The blue coloration seems fairly close to the online image we saw on the monitor but the rose hue was more of a golden/dark straw coloration. No biggie as the colors work in our living room. We purchased these rugs for their blue/white base color. I'm making note of this coloration point as it may make a difference to some. To me, this is not a deal breaker as the rugs, irrespective of the minor coloration difference, look great on the dark laminate living room flooring. Insight: We've been buying and replacing area rugs for many decades. We've purchased area rugs at all the traditional big name department and hardware stores so my following comments reflect this buying experience. I find with rugs of this kind, yes, price does make a difference. The main difference found, is the overall thickness of the product. As you walk on this rug with bare feet and transition to a thicker (more expensive) area rug, you can easily feel the difference. We chose these rugs for both available selection in design and price. Before buying on Amazon, we stopped into the orange, big box hardware store where we've purchased many area rugs in the past and what was available was limited to area rugs that were not large enough and there weren't any corresponding, matching smaller sizes. The alternative to what was readily available was to hit the hip, go big and put in a special order at five to seven times the price of what was available; $750.00 - $1150.00. Yes, we're retired, budget minded shoppers and this too needs to be taken into consideration in the case of a review of this kind. So after shopping big name stores, it was off to Amazon where the final price for the three purchased area rugs was a rounded, more affordable, hundred and sixty-dollars. If later, you want to punch up the overall feel (thickness) of the area rugs, you can, at additional expense, add anti-slip pads. Use keyword "rug pad" for an Amazon search. Yes, this increases the total price but remember, for us, it was about available color/design/size/price and overall, this was the best we could find to match our budget minded shopping/home designer needs. Padding, at additional cost, can be added later as funds become available. Lastly: We're careful users of products of this kind so in my opinion, after a limited week of use, we expect to get many years of use out of these rugs. As long as one is aware of the differences in trim color between monitor vs in person and that this is a noticeably thin backed product, for the price, it's a great purchase we feel looks great on the floor and a purchase we could make again in confidence. Hope the above helps. (PS: We received the 8' X 11" rug. The stated size on the product label was: 7'8" X 10'7". We left the area rug in the direct sun on the backyard patio so as to heat both sides via the Summer noonday sun. After about two hours in the sun, once both sides were thoroughly heated, we then brought the area rug indoors for installation. In the short, the rug laid down on the living room floor perfectly. Very happy camper.) ... show more

  • Great price and the rug exceeded my expectations
Color: Country Blue/Brown Size: 9'2" x 12'5" (Rectangular)
We needed to replace our extremely old and worn 9x12 Persian rug. The old one was 100% wool and had many worn out spots after 30 years, and after shopping locally and being stunned by the prices, we turned to Amazon and discovered there were many less expensive options. With 4 cats, we wanted something durable, washable, and reasonable. And after a battle with moths, we were done with wool. So many choices on Amazon! Eventually we settled on the Home Dynamix rug, because it looked similar to our old one and was extremely well priced at under $100. (the price seems to fluctuate, when we bought it, it was $77 but a week later it was $69, and then a few weeks later $101). Also the different colors are different prices The "Country Blue" we chose looks really good in our living room and I am very satisfied with this purchase.. I am very glad I read the reviews before purchasing - one was very specific about the need to open the rug up outside and let it air out for a day or two before putting it down. The rug definitely had an odor when it arrived, because it's a synthetic and it was wrapped tightly in plastic for shipping. Opening it up and laying it out on a table outdoors was good for two reasons - first, to get the odor out, and secondly, to get rid of the creases from shipping all folded up. We left it out on the patio for the entire weekend - luckily, it was sunny weather. When we put the rug down, there were still some creases (you can see in the photo), but we placed some heavy books on the creases and they eventually smoothed out. I am so pleased with this rug, I have recommended this to several friends already. It has the appearance of a much more expesive rug and it's just perfect for our needs. • My girlfriend ordered one as soon as she saw mine!
Color: Country Blue/Brown Size: 7'8" x 10'7" (Rectangular)
The ONLY reason why I docked a star was because the color is quite infused with lavender, even though it states blue. However, I was kind of counting on that as that's exactly what I thought could happen to me after staring at the thumbnail picture for hours! Like everyone else in the world, 2020 sucked for us! However, the pandemic doesn't even make the list! And I'm a nurse that worked during the pandemic. Last summer we had 3 family members on Hospice in two different states at the same time. We're also a military family, which means that there is ZERO family near us. (It has its perks!) While my husband was in Arkansas caring for his father, and I was in Maryland caring for my Daddy and Uncle, it started flooding in my house. I figured it probably started as I was backing out of the driveway (and hey, that's just how my luck rolls!). We were gone for 3 weeks and we had turned up our AC to 90°. Needless to say, the house hasn't been the same since! I've always had rugs over our carpeting (got into that habit with all of the base housing in which we had resided), always. When we were stationed in The Netherlands, I would go to the auctions to buy my housewares. (We stationed at a Dutch base, only 120 Americans......the nearest base was Spangdahlem AB in Germany......good thing I'm fluent in Dutch.....going to auctions helped me in learning the language) I USED to own these beautiful hand tied, hand knotted rugs from Turkey. You know......the REAL DEAL. Our insurance agent had a massive cow, when I showed him the pics from our "situation". When I went to replace my rugs, turns out I was looking at paying roughly $15,000 - $20,000 per rug! (The most I paid for a rug at Auction was approximately $100 American.) Well, I certainly wasn't going to shell out $20K for a rug......and I had to replace 4 of them! My gal pal had recommended Amazon, and this seller. I'm so very grateful. First, it got here super fast. Second, the colors are so vibrant! I had decided to make our mess even bigger, so we're repainting the whole house since it's all discombobulated. The picture above was taken literally as we were starting to put furniture back into that room. I'm definitely getting a pad, and we bringing the rug back up so we can reroll it right side out, to hopefully diminish the rolls. The few, very few people who have been allowed in our home, have all oohed and aahed appropriately over the rug. Heck one of my gal pals ordered the EXACT same rug as mine when she was over. Hers arrived super fast too. I've ordered from these guys before (but didn't realize it until after my rugs were delivered), and EVERYTHING I've received has been top-notch quality. I haven't opened the others yet, as we haven't finished painting, but I'm excited to see its "siblings". Our 19 year old cat had to make her mark known not 5 minutes after unrolling it. (She's got asthma and has lots of mucus) These rugs are super easy to clean and maintain. I keep an old metal spatula, and when my cat (or my dog too, when he was alive) vomits, I use this old spatula to remove the heavy debris, that way it's not getting messier and bigger. I then use a good carpet cleaner to spray on the stain and then BLOT don't rub! Easy Peasy! I'll be buying more rugs in the Autumn. You can bet your booty, I'll be buying them from these guys! ... show more

  • Wonderful rug in traditional colors I love! Update: After 2 months still love it! Update: 12/23
I initially bought this rug because I loved the colors and the price was good on sale. I actually tried to cancel the order, but my wife said NO! Anyway, we got the rug and it looked beautiful! And this is a man talking about a rug. So I reversed rolled it a day. It came with some good directions about how the rolls will come out. It has been on the floor about 5 or 6 days now and it is almost totally flat on the floor now. I saw some reviews where it is not flat but I have not had that experience. I was thinking to send it back in the beginning, but we managed to find a good place for it. I can only describe that it is a very "warm" rug. I think the quality is good and that the price I bought the rug is very good. I worked overseas in Europe and it very much reminds me of this and bring great comfort for me. But in the end, I would recommend this rug if the price is good, I wouldn't pay 50 or 60 dollars for this rug, but at less than $30 you won't go wrong! Update: Have had this rug down for almost 2 months. The wrinkles are almost totally out now. I even ironed putting a damp cloth over it with iron on low heat, just to speed up the process. We have it in the family room with love seat on on end and storage ottoman in front of the love seat. No slipping issues or curling and holding up well. So my 5 star review still holds! Very pleased with my purchase and love the colors! Update: 12/23 Just quick update after more than 3 years, rug still looks great! Totally flat, for so strong. Great purchase! ... show more

  • Incredible value
Color: Ivory/Taupe Size: 7'9" x 10'8" (Rectangular)
I needed to replace my large, worn area rug in the living room without spending a fortune. I saw this rug and it has the style and colors I was looking for, but the price just seemed too low to have the quality I needed. Since it was so inexpensive and below my budget, I figured I could give it a try anyway. Well well well! What a shock! This rug is as nice as the 10 year old one I was replacing that cost three times as much! The rug arrived carefully wrapped with no damage or defects. I flipped it face side down and gave it a quick once over with my drapery steamer to take out the ripples. Gave it a quick vacuum and there was very little debris in the dust bin. My photo shows the design in the bolder, larger scale than the description photos. At first I wished the design looked a little more delicate, but now I like it better because the larger design gives it a modern twist on a traditional design. If you are considering this rug purchase, just do it. You'll love it, too! ... show more

  • Nice color
Color: Country Blue/Brown Size: 3'7" x 5'2" (Rectangular)
The rug is nice, but I wouldn’t say it’s amazing. The quality is a little lower than I expected, and it’s quite thin. However, the design is beautiful and looks really nice in the room. If you’re someone who likes to change your rugs every six months or so and wants something affordable with a pretty design, this could be a good option. ... show more

  • Can't beat the price!
Color: Grey/Blue Size: 7'8" x 10'7" (Rectangular)
I needed to replace a large area rug that I had in my laundry area of the basement. This space is unfinished, so the color wasn't super important. I opted for the Silver because it was only $71 for an approximately 9x12 rug. That's an incredible price for a rug that large. The rug was left on my porch and I was concerned about carrying it to the basement myself, but it's really light. I rolled it out and was a little surprised by the color. It has a lot of dark blue pattern on it and the silver is more of a medium grey, so overall, the rug feels predominantly blue. It's not a color I would choose for the rest of my house, but again, it's not going to be in an area that's seen or even finished. There's nothing that it needs to match. I rolled it out and it is pretty thin, but that's also totally fine and I won't complain because it was so cheap. It is pretty wavy, especially the end that was on the inside of the roll, but I put heavy objects on the four corners and I'll give it a couple of days to settle and flatten. I'm confident that it will lay nicely. Even though this particular rug is not what I would choose for a finished room in my home, the pattern is really pretty and the price was incredible, so I have both the grey and ivory versions in my cart waiting to see if the price comes down at all. If it does, I will likely purchase them for other rooms. ... show more

  • Cardboard Underfoot
Color: Country Blue/Brown Size: 1'9" x 7'2" (Runner)
I ordered the runner back when it was $24.99 (now it's only $4.99!), and even after ironing it, the rug wouldn't lay flat for some time. We have old, creaky, wood floors, uncomfortable and impractical. The boards are so uneven they crack and pop in the night. Home Dynamix is great when you have large areas to cover, and want to be thrifty. But beware, this line of rugs is the cheapest of the cheap, perhaps even worse than plastic Elvis rugs sold along the roadside. Even with a rug-pad underneath, it's not sufficiently soft. The texture is like cardboard, and after only a few months, with little foot traffic, no ankle-biters, or animals gnawing 'round the edges, it's unraveling. These cheap rugs reviewed here are cheap for a reason! I was totally mislead by the leading 5-star review. Home Dynamix offers a much better line of rugs (still cheap) under their "Royalty" brand, which I highly recommend. Try any versions, for example, the Home Dynamix Royalty 41200B-450 Black 7-Feet 8-Inch by 10-Feet 4-Inch Traditional Area Rug. The black-toned $154.99 rug is quite dark-colored, but THICK, and it's great-looking! I've seen rugs not as nice for three times the cost. The version of an area rug here, 8 x 11, weighs HALF AS MUCH as the "Royalty" line. For a relatively small increase in price, I suggest other Home Dynamix rugs like the dark one mentioned above, or Home Dynamix Royalty 8083-100 Ivory 7-Feet 8-Inch by 10-Feet 4-Inch Traditional Area Rug. You get a rug that weights twice as much, lays down just fine, and is thicker. Even a smaller "Royalty" Home Dynamix rug Home Dynamix Royalty 3208-215 5-Feet 2-Inch by 7-Feet 2-Inch Area Rug, Red/Ivory weighs more than the cheap 8 x 11 one! It's thick, and soft underfoot with a high-quality rug-pad. All the "Royalty" rugs have worn well over the course of months, under high traffic with much use; they also don't add to asthma issues. Be sure to always order a good quality rug-pad, they come in a variety of sizes, weights, and costs, like: Premium-Lock Rug Pad - Provides Extra Cushion, or Homelegend Rug Gripper. Any rug alone, no matter how excellent, will not wear well or feel good without a rug pad. You get what you pay for. So be careful and look at the weight of the rug-pads too, before you order them, a lesson hard learned. Good luck! ... show more
