UPDATE: Contacted company and they quickly sent out a replacement. They told me I can do what I wish with the old. The new chair has given me no problems and does not have the issues the original chair had. I recommend this chair and company. I purchased this chair because I had a recent fall that left me partially immobile on my left side. I was having difficulty getting in and out of my recliner into my wheelchair. I figured a lift chair might be a good option. I spend a great deal of time in this chair. One arm always seemed to lean out when the chair was put together. Both my husband and son checked and double checked that it was put together correctly. Then after a week or so I began to feel like I was leaning to one side and it continuously got worse. As you can see in the pics, it is leaning pretty severely. Also the seat is uncomfortable. I can feel springs or inner bars/mechamics sticking into my butt. Again it's only been a month. I've had to buy a sheep's skin to put in the chair to make it more bearable. I'm reaching out to the company and will update my review with their response and proposed solution ... show more

Armrest cushions have thin strip of Velcro on inside and a zipper on outside to hold them on frame. Very difficult to zip due to there being very little give to get zipper started. Once zipped it is very tight, so tight in fact once you place arms on arm rest, the zipper teeth immediately separate, making it even more difficult to unzip in order to zip again. 2 or 3 attempts later....zippers simply fell apart. Either need a be better quality zipper or simply high strength Velcro on both sides. Returning is not as easy as one would hope for. Once I printed the prepaid shipping label and went to return at a UPS drop site, They were going to charge me $120 to package it for said "free" return of my defective product. Choose to go with one of the other "options" Under instructions it states a 35% partial refund if I decide I could still "use it". Industrial strength Velcro would more than likely solve the issue and would be cheaper than $120 to package in order to ship for a refund. I could live with that. Thankfully, I'm still going to live, only all they were willing to give me was 20% and I still have to order and wait for the Velcro to fix it. Worst yet, a disappointed elderly man that must wait even longer for a lift up. ... show more

We had this for only a few weeks and after a number of back & forth emails, the company did authorize its return and provided a full refund. The hassle was creating new shipping boxes that FedEx would accept, but they did take my homemade packaging!
