The carpet is very thin and very slippery. Have to be careful not to fall walking on it. Also, the tag says not to clean so when it gets dirty I guess you have to discard. This rug is beautiful. I ordered a 6x9, it is true to size. I'm not sure what kind of material this is made from, but it is slippery soft. I made the mistake of putting it by the front door. Everyone in the house said it's slippery... ah, yes.. now I remember why I had such a dislike towards shag rugs. The other thing I want to share that is the most important if your considering this rug yourself. And that is the level of difficulty this rug is to clean. The fact that the Dyson vacuum I have has an extremely difficult time if it's almost even impossible really to even attempt to try to vacuum this rug. However with that said my $40 Bissell handheld vacuum with an attachment head does pretty well at picking up majority off the surface of the carpet because for some reason the Dyson just gets suction cups onto the surface and you can't push or pull it's a no-go it ain't happening so if you ain't got a cheap handheld vacuum or something along that lines I wouldn't recommend this however if you do have something along that lines or even a push broom Style of a carpet cleaning tool then you might be able to get away with that anyways hope that helps happy shopping ... show more

Very, almost to soft, rug that works well for front rooms or bedrooms due to its ability to be thrown into a large washer and be cleaned. When this rug first comes, it is very slippery, meaning don't try walking over it at a fast clip cause you might just slip and fall. I would recommend throwing it in the wash first before throwing it down, it removes the sheen to the fibers and allows you to tread across it without fear of slipping. ... show more

This rug works perfectly in a living room, it’s soft and thick - and easy to vacuum. My only complaint is that it is a little slippery on my stocking feet. The threads are a bit long, kind of like a shag carpet, but looks much more modern. It goes perfectly with my gray furniture and walls. I have a heavier coffee table on top of it, so I can’t tell you if it shifts around because the table keeps it locked in place. I really like the dark gray color. ... show more
