This pedal sounds fine, but only if you barely turn any of the knobs. It amplifies the signal way too much. I have to turn my amp knobs almost to zero, and then very gently adjust the pedal knobs. It’s a bit finicky, but I can usually dial in a good sound. I ended up buying an Orange Crush amp, though, and the dirty channel with a little gain sounds way better and crunchier than this pedal, so I never use it anymore. ... show more

Very, very close to a Danelectro Fab distortion, which itself is a simplified clone of the infamous DOD grunge. (The much bigger Fab Tone was an improved DOD Grunge with more EQ. The earlier, tiny Black Coffee distortion was also a simplified DOD Grunge). The only difference between this and the Fab is the tone knob on this is much more useful (has better highs and does not go into muddy lows). Comparing the two linked together, I can get many identical sounds- all the useful ones, anyway, with even more on the treble end. If you have to have the muddy lows, either dual them into your amp or run this into another peddle and use its EQ to dial this down). If you want the DOD grunge sound for the cheapest possible price, this is it. ... show more
