  • Very well made garage door weather strip.
Size: 17FT
Excellent product. Easy to install with the help of a little silicone spray. Do not use petroleum based lubricants. Dish soap or silicone works very well. Double door 16.5 ft. Took me maybe 20 minutes to remove the old weather strip and install a new one. One man job if you prepare the bottom of the door carefully and use a lubricant. ... show more

  • Worked great!
Size: 22FT
Very easy to install, there's just a few things you want to do in order to keep things going smoothly. First off, this is definitely a 2 person job as one needs to hold it up even with the T channels or you WILL struggle. Start by pulling the seal out of the package and laying it out. If you're doing this in the cold it's going to be much tougher. After you have pulled the old seal out, clean and inspect the T channels for any damage. If either of the channels are to wide at the starting point the seal will continuously pop out. You will either need to close the channel up with a pair of pliers or be ready with a thin flat head screwdriver to pop one half of the seal T back in. Next you will want a spray bottle of soapy water. Spray this into the T channels of the garage door and not the seal itself. It will be much more messy if you spray the seal. Once you get it started, have your helper keep it level with the channels and slowly start sliding it across the garage door. If it does pop out where you are inserting it, either use your flat head or pull it back and re position it again. It took about 2 minutes to do the first one, and about 5 or 6 minutes to do the second because the insertion points top channel was a little bent. Once that's been accomplished, insert your plug ends into the ends of the seal. Go ahead and spray the plugs with the siapy water to help install them. If you have an automatic garage door you may need to adjust it to seat properly so make sure you know how to adjust your opener. Overall it's a great product so far and took care of the gaps below the door. ... show more

  • Not good for old garage doors.
Size: 17FT
Our door is probably 30 years old and it took hours for me to get this through the tracks. Spray and soapy water were of no help. The T rubber was to big but with lots tugging and tucking it worked. It is well made and soft thick rubber. Should last for my life time.😊

  • Challenging installation but nice when done
Size: 17FT
All the reviews that describe the installation as a struggle are correct. The old, hard, flat, and brittle original seal came off easily as soon as I realized the installer put a screw through the rubber on each end of the door bottom. I cleaned the tracks as much as possible and then sprayed a dry teflon lubricant into the tracks. Feeding the rubber seemed to be simple for about the first five feet... then it became much more difficult and slower as the distance progressed. My wife assisted greatly as we pushed and pulled it finally into place. The rubber plugs were easy to insert and the new rubber seal seems to be better than the original. Time will tell if it stays in place and how it holds up. For now, I'm happy that it's installed and hope it remains flexible long into the future. ... show more

  • Good product - Installation tips
Size: 22FT
I bought the 22ft roll for my 20 ft garage door. Many reviews say it's short by a few inches so I wanted to be sure I had enough. As it turned out the product measured almost 22ft +1 inch on an 85 degree day in Houston. The product was soft and pliable and well packaged in a roll.. Installation tips/requirements which helped me, your results may vary. It does take two people to install this seal in the track, one to pull and the other to bend the seal into the U shape and carefully guide the T-edge into the track. If not properly held and guided into the channels the T edge will come out. BOTH sides of each T must be in the channel to secure it properly in place. If one edge pops out you need to back up the seal until it is seated in the track before continuing with the installation. Failure to do this will cause the seal to fall out of the track later on. Be fore you start, make sure the track guide channels are clean of all sand and dirt as well as the rubber edges on the door seal. I had mud in mine which needed to be brushed out and wiped clean with a wet rag. Also make sure all screws that attach the track to the door are tight and fully seated to prevent the seal from catching them during the installation. I found dish soap/water did help in the beginning but dried quickly and stopped the seal from sliding in the tracks unless I kept the entire length wet. This goes for both the channels and rubber seal. I switched to a Klein Tools Clear Wire Lubricant used to help pull wires through conduit. This is a safe clear lubricating jelly and I found the rubber seal to slide much easier along all 20 feet. Also to assist with pulling the seal, I used vice grips to grab the seal and give something better to hold on to. I didn't see any ripping or tearing while using the pliers. In my case I had an extra two feet of seal if there was any damage. After the seal was installed I grabbed and slid the seal very slightly back and forth in the track to be sure there was no tight tension in one spot or looseness in others and did this along the length of the seal. The new seal is good and tight, no light showing through under the door. Pictures included. ... show more
