Purchased this heavy duty Kayak roof rack for my SUV to hold my paddle boards and a 9’ kayak. They are very stylish and look great attached to the roof of my vehicle. I can use them in different positions and they have a locking mechanism to stow my paddle so I don’t have to put it inside my SUV. They are really simple to install and have a locking folding quick release handle to tighten up once they are in place. The two rubber pads on the bottom are great for my Kayak to sit on so I know it’s not being damaged in any way plus the foam around the frame really helps out too. It comes with all the hardware to install it and the lashing straps are 25’ in length to secure the Kayak to the frame. The bottom has coated metal supports and has easy to use bolts and nuts that can be tighted by hand. The only thing I had to purchase separately was the crossbars for my Honda Pilot for this to attach to. ... show more

Bought two sets to carry 4 kayaks on 76” cross bars. Originally had 1-1/2” cross bars but had to change to 1-1/4” sq tube cross bars. Recess for bars fit perfectly on the 1-1/2” cross bars. Racks seem pretty sturdy. First trip went well. Paddle holder is a good idea. But no room for paddles with kayak on the same side with paddle holder. Overall vey happy with racks. ... show more

I think the engineering of this rack is very good. I live in Arizona and the sun is very hot hear. I don't know how well all this plastic will hold up. When you slide the two parts together the upper and lower won't stay together. I put a screw on each side. They could have designed it as a push button lock as you see on the table umbrella. One of the nuts was defective that holds the lower section together, It is not loose but the nut cover fell right off when I took it out of the package.     • Not A Fan Of How It Attaches To The Crossbar
I like the way this has a single handle to adjust the middle tilt bar. However I am not a fan of how this attaches to the crossbar of the roof rack. The bottom of the holder is aluminum, with serrations for grip, but these serrations gouge and tare up your crossbar, yet the under side clamp is covered in a rubber substance to stop that. I have a small ford fiesta car, and holding 2 kayaks at once is something I always wanted to do. I've tried several from Walmart, and none worked very well until I found this one. It is sturdy and doesn't move around much while driving, easy to install, and doesn't take much efford.

First and foremost, it is very easy to assemble. It’s also folds/adjusts up and down when or when not in use. It came with all the necessary bolts and manual. It also came with straps.
