I was a bit leery ordering this cabinet based on the other reviews, but I'm glad I did. The color is beautiful. I ordered the mahogany and it's true to color. The cabinet is spacious (I'm using it as food pantry), and holds a lot of items. I don't think I would use it as a wardrobe, but you could as long as you didn't hang items that were too heavy.. Here is my take: Things I loved: It was very well packed and didn't have a scratch on it when I received it. All the pieces were there and they all were labeled, even the hardware (be sure to do an inventory before you start). The directions were a lot better than previous reviews reported. I've put together a lot of pieces recently and Hodedah's directions were one of the better ones. The cabinet I ordered was mahogany and it was true to color, it's very pretty. Thing that made we want to drink: It's the nature of the beast, but you have to very careful handling the material. I dinged the wood a few times. It's not a big deal, but just be really careful when putting it together. The hidden hinges are pain the neck. Every piece of furniture seems to come with them now, but I hate them. I can never seem to get the doors to line up perfectly and my floors aren't exactly even. In any event, take your time putting the doors on. Also, take care when putting the back on. It tends to slip and misalign and will be noticeable when you lift it up. The one part of the unit I didn't like is the handles. They were the hardest part to put on and I ended up ordering new, different color handles that look much better. Overall, it's a great unit. Just be careful putting it together and take extra care when putting on the doors.

I have been a loyal customer of Amazon Prime for years and this product is by far the cheapest and flimsiest product I have ever purchased. I am so disappointed. This is supposed to be a sturdy wardrobe storage unit, yet the dowels that hold the unit together are made out of cheap plastic. The item was broken when arrived. As I put it together, The bottom piece that is supposed to hold it together fell and almost hit my foot because the cheap plastic dowels broke. I have submitted a return request and am having my money refunded. Do not buy the product, it is simply not worth it.

This item MUST be anchored to the wall! It is too tall for it's width. Here in earthquake prone CA, this is an express route to kingdom come. The directions are horrible. It took my dad, mom, son, and myself to put it together, then get it into the room it was to be in. Very heavy, UPS would not bring it into the house, and there were two of them! The box said 124 pounds - machine lift, so unless you have a fork lift in the garage...

Took me 4 hrs with the extra work I performed. It would be much easier with 2 people. It arrived filthy, one damaged shelf, and even after my modifications is still very UNSTABLE. I'm going to try removing the back and gluing it as well as nailing it. FOR THE PRICE i knew it would require extra work. MODIFICATIONS: Remove molding between the two doors which prevents you from opening them independently. Put Extra nails across the back into the shelves. Black Sharpie marker to cover all the stuff marks. Drilled 8 new holes to install the 2 shelves in the bottom half so the top can be used to hang clothes. Put felt sliders on the bottom instead of the cheap plastic feet. Added rubber bumpers so the doors don't slam. tools: hammer, tape measure, masking tape, drill bits, Pry bar, screws, vacuum, household cleaner, screw gun, T-square, pliers.

More than half of the pieces came broken or scratched. The plus is that customer service was very nice and accommodating and sent new pieces. However, once we got it put together, I was very disappointed. It is flimsy, not sturdy at all. And it's so narrow that the hangers don't even fit in it correctly!! I recomend spending the extra $20-$50 on one that is higher quality.

Nearly every piece was damaged when it arrived. We put it together anyway because it would have been too costly to ship back. The directions were nearly impossible and we had to reconfigiure some of it and drill new holes in order to make it level.

We purchased these cabinets (2) to turn our DEN into a legal bedroom. Since my husband is a carpenter, he thought they were relatively simple to assemble. He actually said that the instructions were great, easy to follow and no big deal. Except, using Allen wrench to put the screw in is very ridiculous. So he put an Allen bit on his drill and screwed them all in very quickly. THEY SHOULD ALL BE PHYLLIPS SCREWS NOT ALLEN WRENCH SCREWS.... We did received 3 damaged pieces; but, we turned the one piece of wood the opposite way and you couldn't see the ding and the other two pieces that were damaged was the white particle board strip that is supposed to block the view of what is inside the cabinet. He removed them and adjusted the doors to close closer together and that solved the issue (so we didn't bother to return). All-in-all, we love the cabinets and they will be perfect for our guests who come to stay.

I got this and like many others, it was damaged. I think the box is just way too heavy for a single delivery driver to comfortably handle, so they get dropped. Be prepared for this reality. It SHOULD be shipped in 2 boxes to address this. Amazon did not deliver this to my porch, which is covered and is my specified delivery location, I think because it is another 40 feet away with a really really heavy box. I get it. So they dropped it at first possible spot, by my garage. Not ideal as shipment #1 was a rainy day and I could not budge the box, forcing me to cut it open outside and bring individual pieces in to get it out of rain. on the plus side...Company responded well to my contact and promptly sent a replacement cabinet with no hassle so that part was ok. It is not the sturdiest item but it is certainly adequate and looks decent. Struggled a bit with set up since instructions do not address hinges properly, but got it sorted out .I'm happy with it, a good amount of storage but just be prepared for a possible damage hassle factor.
