As a life-long, experienced seamstress, i have worked on Singer sewing machines all my life. My old sewing machine gave up the ghost and so I ordered this machine from Amazon, I liked that it came with a foot pedal. I was however not prepared that this machine would soon test my wits to the bone mark sucking every last ounce of brains out of my head ,,, and it STILL does N O T work right ! The instruction booklet is very poorly written, like "all the lights are on and nobody is home" like ! The instructions are confusing and what the hell is the issue with the "Tension' on top of the machine.. iI have tried every which way to place the thread in the tension but the machine still does not sew a STRAIGHT line without "gathering/bunching up" the fabric .. why this confusion with the tension ?????? The dreading the needle is equally pathetic. = A.. backwards .. the handwheel is very rough to turn and will not loosen up .... in summary: this machine seems like it was designed by a macho alpha male BECAUSE THAT IS EXACTLY HOW IT ACTS ! It does not respond properly to commands I have given to Singer sewing machines ALL MY LIFE ... CATASTROPHIC !!!! I am returning this piece of junk for a FULL REFUND before losing my mind with it ... I grew up in Germany , the "homeland" of the Singer sewing machine and I am not bashful to say that this piece of junk is an INSULT TO MY HOMELAND GERMANY and my as well ... DO NOT PURCHASE THIS THING ... IT WILL SUCK EVERY LAST OUNCE OF BRAINMASS IN YOUR HEAD AND ... STILL DOES NOT WORK ...... IT IS A MACHO/ALPHA MALE B R A T !!!!!!

The media could not be loaded. So I have always wanted a sewing machine of this size but never got one for one reason or another. I have never owned or operated such a machine but this one had me sewing Really Good after going through the manual and learning the machine and how to string it and all that jazz. I was even sewing complex looking stitch patterns in smooth curves and locking in stitches at the end of the run of stitches with ease! Once I got my thread tensions right I was off to the races. Being a beginner, I really appreciate how well they did the manual and the complete absence of grammar errors and misspellings. It was done by a native English speaker! The illustrations could be a little better but I was able to figure it out just by looking closely at what I was doing. It all makes sense if you take your time. The machine comes with a foot pedal that allows me to run the machine at whatever speed I want from super super turtle slow to full speed. It is a very precise and responsive foot pedal. This machine can run 1 needle, 2 needle, hems, etc and changing out the plate and foot are super easy. It even has a needle eye threader that WORKS PERFECTLY which is really helpful with my aging eyes! I love that I can change the stitch pattern by just turning a knob, even in the middle of a run of stitches. This may be common on these types of machines but I thought that was really neat and super easy. The machine comes with a thin PVC cover that might need to be upgraded later on and it has a carry handle to move it around easily. The machine is SOLID and has rubber feet that keep it right where you put it. The LED by the needle and foot are really helpful also to see what you are doing. I do wish it had an additional LED on the inside of the foot to light up that area too but it is not a deal breaker whatsoever. The bottom bobbin is easy to access and take in and out and it has an automatic bobbin winder on the top of the machine. Pretty cool! This machine even has a 4 step buttonhole process built into it. I will probably never use it but it is there for those that need a neat feature like that. This machine has tons of options and a boat load of capability. It feels super well built and has good access to parts of the machine that need to be taken apart, cleaned and oiled when that time comes. The machine even allows the storage flip open drawer to be removed so the “table” gets smaller and small things like cuffs can be sewn without the big table being in the way. All of the knobs have positive clicks so you are 100% sure of the setting you have it on and the knobs all have a rubber grip on them making them easy to grasp and manipulate. Overall, I am VERY HAPPY with the machine and how much it is capable of doing. It operates perfectly once dialed in and setup and I am very excited to have it. I would 1,000% order this machine again if I had to do it all over again. No Regrets! This is a great machine at a fair price and I am pretty sure that it will be around and working still long after I am gone. I can wait to get into some of the projects that I have wanted to do for years but couldn’t do because I didn’t have a sewing machine. It comes with a ton of accessories, zipper foot, needles, bobbins, etc. to get you up and running straight out of the box and the lower bobbin comes loaded with black thread. I would absolutely recommend this machine. I am really stoked to have it and I have no doubt it is capable of keeping my work clothing in rotation until it cannot be saved any more and capable of much more than I can imagine at this point. Genuinely an A+++++ Item. $119.99 at the time of this review is a really fair price for this really capable, perfectly working and well made machine.
