Costing $850 to fix - with no replacement circuit boards to be found. Loved it while it worked, but for the price we paid for it, it should still be running. Such a disappointment

    • Broke three times in five years
We purchased a 500 series Bosch Speed Oven in 2017. I'm surprised to see that this oven is still on the market because it has disappointed us so much. First, its SpeedChef mode, which is touted as combining the best of microwave and convection cooking, is only intended for 9 specific foods. When I tried it for fish, the results were pretty much the same as if I had used microwave only. More seriously, the oven has broken three times in the five years that we have owned it, the first time it broke was immediately after the warranty expired, and we had to pay $215.88 for a repair. Bosch repaired the oven the second time it broke, five months later, but now the oven won't heat in either microwave or convection modes. When I called this time, no one answered the customer service line -- I was sent to hold for an hour and didn't even hear hold music to let me know I was in the queue. I reached Jean, a representative, by email, but she told me I would have to get a diagnosis from a Bosch technician and referred me to a website that says the diagnosis will cost $159. With the diagnosis and proof of purchase, she said, I would then have to call the customer service line. When I pointed out that I didn't think I should have to pay for a diagnosis, and that I couldn't get through on the customer service line, she simply repeated the instructions to pay for a diagnosis and call the customer service line.     • Defective, or just pathetic?
Been working okay for about a year, but since new, the beeper at the end of cycle is barely audible so you never know when the food is done.

    • Defective Product. Should be recalled.
I purchased eight of these for an apartment complex I built and completed in 2019. This is a defective product. The switch mechanisms on the door closure arc and short routinely, causing oven to not function due to short or open circuity. I now have to repair these myself by replacing the switch housings and the switches on the door closure. I have even had to modify the switch housing assembly to make it more durable/reliable.     • Poor quality, terrible service
We liked the dual microwave/oven function and bought it as part of a kitchen remodel. It worked for a month and died. We have had 3 service calls to have it fixed and it is still not working. Bosch will not replace what is obviously a faulty unit. We are awaiting the 4th service call. The unit has been non-functional for over a month. A countertop microwave and toaster oven would do the same job for 1/10th the price. ... show more

    • Microwave 'zaps' itself and melts and shatters window glass
Had one convection speed oven installed July 2018, arced and blew a quarter size hole in door window. Took until Nov 2018 to get Bosch to replace it. Jan 15, 2020 this time replacement oven blew silver dollar size hole through not only inside but outside glass as well!!! Bosch not responding.
