I I’m extremely disappointed with this purchase. This laptop was listed as new, but it was clearly used or returned and resold without any proper inspection or reset. First red flag: the box had already been opened and the security seal was completely torn off. Inside, the laptop had visible fingerprints on the screen, and one of the stickers left behind smudged ink, like it had been peeled off and reapplied. Even more frustrating, the laptop was not reset—it booted up into an existing user account, and it wouldn’t connect to Wi-Fi, making setup impossible right out of the box. This is extremely disappointing, especially from a well-known brand like ASUS. I expected better quality control and transparency from both ASUS and Amazon. If I wanted a used laptop, I would have bought one openly listed as such—not paid full price for something passed off as new. Would not recommend unless you want to gamble on what you’re actually getting. ... show more

Let me first tell you what I don't like about this laptop. I don't like that I had to wait until 2024 to get it. There, I said it. I have always been a fan of ASUS, and this ROG Strix gaming laptop is the 'bees-knees'. However, I wouldn't call it a laptop so much as a fancy space-heater. Yeah, it gets very hot! That being said, I'm running Satisfactory at max settings and only getting 67°C heat out of it. My electric blanket thanks you ASUS. And I still get over 100fps consistently. What do I mean when I say I'm a Compu-snob? I mean that I only want the best, but at the lowest price. I'm not a space-ship mogul after all... I spent the better part of a year sourcing out laptops, desktops, and tablets for something that would scream, MORE, and yet not make my wallet scream, LESS! And this is it. The CPU idles at 2.20GHz but revs up to 4GHz for all your high-performance needs. With 16GB DDR5 RAM clocked at a ridiculous 5600MHz, this RTX 4070 GPU machine puts ultimate power where it belongs...In my living room...and yours too. P.S. You can up the RAM to 32GB and the SSD to 2 or 4 TB if you want, and who doesn't? The screen is bright and vibrant, however, it's not bright enough for outdoors. But with a battery life of one hour or less, you will want to plug this power-hungry beast into a wall. And, yes, there are some very appreciable power-saver settings you can use. I don't. Never will... The price tag is reasonable. I got the seasonal deal, but even at MFG price, you really can't beat what you are getting. If you want to make your friends envious with a screaming beast of a gaming machine without having to donate organs, then the ROG Strix 2024 is your choice. ... show more

I bought this laptop after my Asus Zephysus failed and quit working one year after buying it from best buy. This is my third ROG. My first one from 2014 never failed me but in 2023 i figured it was time for an update. The Strix has none of the problems the Zephysus had. I have zero heat issues, it can play all the games i want it to (and they look great). It powers up fast and i have had zero issues with crashes or blue screens of death. It has been very reliable for every task i have need it for. I deploy quite often so the laptop is one of my few forms of entertainment. When im at home i can take it room to room to be with my family and use it. This is something you can't really do with a console. This was twice the price of my last laptop and the most expensive of the three ive owned, but to me it is worth the price. It has all the bells and whistles with led lighting around the base and keyboard if you care about that. The biggest plus for me though was that it is user friendly. I prefer the NVIDIA interface to the AMD and the asus apps. I am not the most technological and just want the games a buy to play the best on the computer i have. If you are trying to choose between ASUS ROG products just go ahead and pull the trigger on this one, you wont regret it. Don't forget to add the Amazon warranty, better to have it and not need it and all that. ... show more

An absolute beauty of a laptop. Over all the design is elegant and has very few flaws. My one and only complaint after using this daily for months is how far back the screen can go. Wish it could go a little farther back, I'm on the taller side of height and after a few hours of typing or watching a show or researching the neck pain can be quite overwhelming. The battery doesn't very long but that's to be expected and those buying this laptop should hopefully already understand that. Now for some other things of note. The keyboard feels surprisingly well, a little snappy which I enjoy for gaming, mainly play Valorant. Doesnt get to hot which is really nice, because of this the fans also arent to loud. ... show more

The storage capacity is good, along with the RAM capacity. The graphics card is great as well. The laptop has a great build, as it's made out of metal and has pretty high quality parts for its price point. The laptop is also good at staying cool with its 3 fan system and is fairly bright, even with an antiglare monitor. The i9 is very fast, as it has 8 performance cores and 16 effeciency cores (24-cores total). 16 GB RAM is nice at not causing freezing for most tasks, but upgrading the RAM is suggested if you wish to use this for gaming. Upgrades are easy too, as both the SSD and the RAM are not soldered and click in and out of the laptop's motherboard. Plus, there are 2 SSD slots and 2 RAM slots, with 1 free SSD slot if you want to purchase an extra storage card to have additional storage on top of the 1 TB SSD that is provided. Overall, this choice is amazing if you want a quality gaming laptop at a reasonable price point. The only suggestion I would have for buyers is upgrading the RAM if using for heavy gaming. ... show more
