  • Great gift
I ordered this for my husband as a gift but I love it too! This is very easy to put together. The base and the screen both have to be charged, the cords come in the box not the wall chargers, we have a lot of wall chargers so not a problem. It took about 3 hours for both to be charged and turn on. I had to reread the instructions the first time I used it as I couldn't figure out how to turn the power on the screen on. The power button and charging lights, picture/video button are all on the front of the plastic housing on the bottom of the screen, I didn't realize the actual buttons were below the screen, I thought I could turn on the screen by touching the icon on the plastic housing on the bottom front of the screen, nope the button is under the screen. Once I was able to turn this on I was in love! This is so fun! I also love this takes pictures and videos, very easy to take both and play them back. This also comes with a microSD chip. I don't collect coins my husband does, he is losing his eye site as he is older making him frustrated trying to see his coins, this is a blessing as it really makes the coins stand out. I didn't realize how much is on a coin until I used this. He loves it and is now able to see his coins again. This is very easy to move the microscope up and down. The instructions are easy, outside of my little issue with "how do I power" it on I was able to assemble and use without the instructions. It comes with an additional "cowling" for soldering which we don't need but is a great addition. There is so much we will use this for. We both love this and think it is a great price for the quality of the product. ... show more

  • Different Lighting opportunities with the side lights.
Microscope: The attached photos show variation in lighting and maximum enlargement of some handy specimens. A 32gb micro-sd card is included for saving photos and videos. There are a few things I don't care for with the scope: First is the loose tractor mechanism (height adjusting screw) on the bracket that raises and lowers the monitor. The tolerances are so low that it wobbles or even drops when the friction screw on the back of the post is loosed. Second is the odd fit of the monitor in the bracket's lens holder held in place by 2 screws. It's as if this is a hybrid device intended to accommodate monitors of different sizes. Third is location of the USB connection and the brightness knob of the sidelights. Having them on the side would allow easier access without reaching to the back. There are also things I do like: The monitor is large and the base is adequate. The menu is consistent with other cameras that take both still shots and video with play back. The side lights create alternate lighting although they tend to have a mind of their own when setting them in place. The LED lights in the lens are bright and will light up any specimen on the table. I notice that once a specimen is under the scope, it takes a second or two for the lighting to adapt and clarify the view. The closer the monitor is moved to the base, the orientation of the screen moves to vertical due to the proximity of the bracket post preventing the screen from tilting. The screen can be nearly horizontal at higher elevation on the post but the image on the screen becomes smaller. Finally, a remote control gives an alternative to touching the screen. Some practice is necessary to find what the buttons do even though they are marked. Photos are crisp. I used the 'anti-reflective hood' in most of my viewing. The manual seems to suggest removing the 'protective hood' by twisting it, but it is only a friction fit and cannot be twisted free. There is a button next to the reset hole. When I press it, the monitor shuts down immediately and can only be turned on again with the power button. Startup returns with the correct date and time, so I'm not convinced it serves as a reset button nor is it a sleep button. Overall, the extra-large size of the monitor makes viewing miniature components much easier. Perfect for electronics, numismatics, forensics and curious minds. On Microsoft Windows, Camera AND Microphone must be enabled for the PC to view the Microscope's output. The Mass Media connection is like connecting a USB drive. I also looked at dead bugs, grains of boric acid, fabric, fingers, pu leather and electronic boards. Some of the things I stuck to clear tape to keep them from blowing away which works if done carefully and shows smudges and extraneous stuff the way I did it. ... show more

  • Well Made!
The Hideal HM10 10.1" HD IPS Digital Microscope is a versatile and high-performance digital microscope designed for hobbyists, collectors, and professionals who need to inspect small objects such as coins, electronics, or jewelry with high precision. This microscope is equipped with a 16MP camera, 1200X magnification, and a 10.1-inch HD IPS display, making it an excellent choice for detailed inspections. Here's a detailed review: Pros: High-Resolution Imaging: The 16MP camera and 1200X magnification allow for extremely detailed views of small objects. This is particularly beneficial for coin collectors, error coin identification, electronics repair, or any application that requires close-up inspection. The 16MP resolution ensures that even the tiniest details are captured clearly, and the 1200X magnification provides a close view without compromising image quality. Large 10.1" HD IPS Display: The 10.1-inch HD IPS screen offers an impressive 1080p resolution, providing crisp, sharp images with great color accuracy. The IPS panel ensures wide viewing angles, so you can easily share the screen with others or view objects from different angles without significant color distortion or fading. The large screen also eliminates the need to constantly look through an eyepiece, making it much more comfortable for extended use. Built-in Lighting: The microscope comes with adjustable LED lighting, which is crucial for clear visibility when inspecting small objects. The built-in light allows you to adjust the brightness according to your needs, ensuring you get optimal lighting conditions for various types of specimens, from shiny coins to detailed soldering work. This feature is highly appreciated when working with intricate details in low-light conditions. PC View and Image Capture: One of the standout features is the ability to connect the microscope to a PC or laptop for a larger display or to save images and videos. You can use the microscope’s USB connection to transfer your images or live video feed directly to a computer, making it easier to capture and analyze details or share them with others. The included 32GB memory card allows for ample storage of images and videos, and files can be easily accessed and transferred. User-Friendly Controls: The controls are simple and intuitive, making it easy for users of all experience levels to operate. The microscope features straightforward zoom, focus, and brightness adjustment controls, allowing for quick setup and use. Additionally, the on-screen display for settings and options is clear and easy to navigate. Portable and Adjustable Stand: The adjustable stand gives users the ability to fine-tune the microscope’s position, making it more versatile for different types of tasks, whether you're inspecting small parts on a circuit board or looking for flaws in coins. The stand is stable enough to support the microscope while offering a flexible range of movement. Great for Hobbyists and Professionals: Whether you're a coin collector, watch repairer, electronics hobbyist, or just someone who enjoys examining small objects, the Hideal HM10 offers a great combination of features that suit both beginners and experts. It provides a clear and detailed view, which is essential for precise work or inspecting rare or valuable items. Affordable for the Features: Considering the high magnification, large display, and quality camera, the Hideal HM10 offers excellent value for money. It’s much more affordable compared to traditional microscopes with similar features, making it a great option for those looking to get started with digital microscopy without breaking the bank. Cons: Limited Battery Life: While the Hideal HM10 is designed for portable use, the battery life might be limited, especially when used with maximum brightness or for extended periods. Users may find that the battery needs frequent recharging when using it without a direct power connection. However, this can be mitigated by using the device with the included AC adapter for longer sessions. Not as Compact as Other Models: While the 10.1-inch screen is fantastic for viewing, it makes the Hideal HM10 less compact than other handheld or eyepiece-based microscopes. If you need a smaller, more portable solution, this may not be the best option. It’s great for desktop use or when you need a large, detailed view but less so for on-the-go inspections. Fixed Magnification Levels: While the 1200X magnification is excellent, some users may prefer a microscope with variable magnification levels for even more flexibility in inspecting different specimens. The fixed magnification can limit flexibility if you need a wider zoom range for different types of work. Plastic Build: While the build quality is generally good for the price, the plastic housing might feel a bit less premium compared to higher-end models made from metal or other materials. However, this doesn’t affect the functionality, and the microscope is still sturdy enough for most tasks. Requires External Light Source in Bright Environments: In extremely bright environments, the built-in lighting might not be sufficient to properly illuminate the specimen, and you may need to rely on additional external lighting. This is not an issue in most cases, but it's something to keep in mind if you're working in varying lighting conditions. Overall: The Hideal HM10 10.1" HD IPS Digital Microscope is an excellent tool for anyone who needs a high-quality, affordable digital microscope for tasks like coin error inspection, electronics work, jewelry examination, or other intricate tasks. The 16MP camera, 1200X magnification, large HD display, and adjustable lighting make it a solid choice for both professionals and hobbyists. The PC connectivity and image storage options add a lot of convenience, while the intuitive controls and adjustable stand ensure ease of use. While it may not be as portable as smaller microscopes and has a few limitations with battery life and build materials, it offers great value for money and is highly recommended for those seeking a detailed, easy-to-use microscope for a variety of tasks. If you're looking for a microscope with a larger screen, solid performance, and versatility, the Hideal HM10 is a great option. ... show more
