  • I love this bike
So this is my first e-bike. I wasn't really considering what I wanted it for, I just knew I wanted a reliable e-bike. Well I did get that! I haven't spent any meaningful time on a bike in 25 years and now I use this to commute to work, about 21 miles round trip. I bought this in February but I am not an all seasons kinda gal (yet) so I didn't start riding it till April. I didn't really work into it gently, just kinda jumped right in, this bike it that much fun. Now I whine when I have to drive my van to work because I have errands to run afterwards. If I can ride my bike every day to work, I am really happy! This bike was very easy to assemble. By that I mean, it arrived and my husband had it out of the box and assembled before I knew it was here, which was about 30 minutes. at 38 years old, this bike was very easy to figure how to use, simple controls, all that. My 15 yr old son loves it as well. There have been a few blips but they have all been user error. All of them. Like make sure the battery is off when charging because it will not charge right otherwise. Just double check, we have left it on a couple times, gave me a stressful ride to work. I always make it, even when it says I'm on the last battery bar for 8 miles... Just stressful. The sellers are great! When the bike came in, the bracket that holds the display onto the bike broke. I sent them a message, they asked for a pic, I sent it, I think they asked if I wanted to mail it back to fix it. I asked for just the replacement part and the tool to put it on, they sent it and the hubs put it on and away we went. the part arrived fast and we haven't had any issues with the replacement piece. This has been the best bike and experience! I was not a super fan of the seat, that's the only thing but my husband says "it's a mountain bike, you aren't supposed to spend a lot of time sitting on it". So there is that! I replaced the seat and it takes a rear rack no issues. I am 5'2" and this bike fits me fine. So short ladies, enjoy. I think it you don't replace the seat, 5'1" can fit the bike fine. My work route takes me up and down hills, over rough terrain and train tracks. The shocks are great and going up hill that I'd guess is about 30 degrees, the slowest I get to is 16mph and the fastest going down hill I have pushed it to is 26.6mph :-) My driveway is steep gravel and with PAS on level 5 just starting out, it go about 7-9mph. Coming back down it arriving home, the brakes are very smooth! The right one is weaker than the left and that might be by design but they work perfectly together. If you hit the left break, You will go flying off the bike, that will attempt to stop you on a dime. I have a different bike and riding down that hill, the brakes are jerky and terrible. This bike is super smooth. I regularly ride it 20mph. There are times, like coming down a hill and it flattens out, it takes a few moments for the motor to kick back in, might dip to 17-18 mph. It just gives me more time to put more effort into my ride, no big. I don't any any pics or video at the moment but I will try to add them on later. It's easier to shop when you can see the item with people. The quality is great, the customer service is great, the bike is fantastic. ... show more

  • Affordable ebike to get you started with electric transportation.
As an older gentleman with back issues, I find that I need a little assist with pedal power. An ebike seemed perfect. Like all new tech there is a learning curve. After getting the hang of controlling the electronics, this bike is a pleasure to ride. As for the bike itself, it is well built and has all the right stuff. Shimano gears, disc brakes, and was easy to assemble. Since I don't intend on doing hard core mountain biking, I replaced the seat for more comfort. The original seat is like sitting on a rock. I added a rearview camera instead of mirrors and a light duty rear rack and That makes it perfect for me. Even though this bike has front suspension it is not a hardcore mountain bike. The reason is not the bike itself but the 350kw motor and low amp battery just aren't enough for steep climbs. This bike is great for short hill climbs and semi rough trails, but you will want more if you are an extreme rider. If you want to look cool on a mountain bike but do minor hill climbing, this bike will not disappoint. By the way, I highly recommend the rear view camera over mirrors. You get a steady wide view that doesn't jump around. Works better than a mirror for low light and night riding. ... show more

  • Inexpensive Doesn't Necessarily Mean Cheap!
The Hittroad Safari was the first model I considered when I began looking for e-bikes. I looked at several others, including the MIclon/Metakoo Cybertrack 100, Ancheer, TotGuard, and Vivi. I read lots of reviews, and watched many youtube videos. It seemed that each time I thought I found another bike to seriously consider, I would eventually return to the Hittroad. All of the other bikes were more expensive and some had shipping charges as high as $100, while the Hittroad included free shipping. The Hittroad was the only bike in this range that comes with a rapid charger, front and rear fenders, and most importantly for someone like me with neck and back issues, an adjustable handlebar stem. It currently has a $100 coupon which made it even more attractive. The bike arrived in only 2 days, was well very packaged, and assembly was easy, with all of the necessary tools included. I put 21 miles on the Hittroad today and am very impressed. First, there is nothing “cheap” about the bike from a quality or quality control standpoint. Everything works as it should. The brakes and shifters worked fine right out of the box with no need for adjustment. I checked every nut, bolt, and screw on the bike before riding, just to ensure nothing was loose, and everything was snug. Unlike with many bargain bikes, the wheels were straight and true with no wobble, high or low spots. The brakes are smooth and quiet. It rides solid and with no rattles. The Hittroad Safari gets up and flat out moves! I saw speeds of up to 22 mph on flat asphalt, both in pedal assist mode level 5 and in throttle only mode. There isn’t much of a learning curve with the pedal assist mode. The speed on the digital display is accurate as checked by my phone’s GPS, and it is large enough that it is easy to read. The buttons to move between assist mode levels are easy to use. After 21 miles I had two battery bars left, so I estimate my range should be somewhere around 30 miles. The only downside is that well before finishing the 21 mile ride the seat became very uncomfortable. I will be replacing it with something better. Final thought: While I was riding the bike I was stopped on two separate occasions by neighbors who expressed interest in it. When I told them how little I paid for it they both asked me to send them the Amazon link for the bike. Pros: Low price Excellent performance for the cost Excellent build quality and quality control Adjustable Handlebar Stem (only bike in this price range with this feature) Fast Charger Easy to assemble Control Module is easy to read and use Includes Front and Rear Fenders Con: The seat is uncomfortable ... show more

  • I love it
I don't write reviews often, but I just love this bike so much. It doesn't have any of the high-end fancy features that I didn't want...it's just a good-looking and very fun to ride affordable electric bike. The original seat was okay but I'm happier with a softer one I got later. Otherwise, everything about it is exactly what I (a middle aged guy who wanted to go on relaxing rides with an electric boost so I can choose how much I'm exercising) was hoping it would be. Highly recommended. ... show more
