This 50w heater worked great for what I needed. It works nicely with my 6.5 gallon planted tank. Easy to set up. 3 included suction cups are high quality and seem durable. Power cord is longer than the heater I replaced it with. Unit itself is normal sized for similar heaters. Like several other reviewers, in my tank heater consistently runs about 4 degrees warmer then set. I have it set at 76F degrees and my personal thermometer is showing 79F degrees (off by over 2C). Have not used included stick on thermometer but it is a nice touch. I should also note that despite me keeping my room warmer at night my tank always maintains a steady temperature. Seems to run a few degrees warmer than set so be aware and watch your tank when you set it up if you have livestock. Have had for 2 weeks. Was sent with customer service manager contact, but did not reach out. I recommend this product for a low cost equation heater. This heater works! I have the 50W in a 5 gallon tank and it does fine. I went through FOUR other heaters for my Betta fish, who had some trauma and really needed warm, comfortable, low stress tank conditions. I'm pretty new to aquariums and never realized how complicated this hobby can be! I'm really lucky that my Betta has survived my learning curve with the nano tanks, nitrogen cycle, and water temperature especially with the number of crap products out there claiming to be adequate that simply don't work. This one DOES. I had a really hard time getting my 3 and 5 gallon nano tanks above 70 degrees. I started with auto heaters at 10 and 15 W that claimed to be adequate for anything uo to 5 gallons - no joy, poor Betta suffered. Then I upgraded to an auto 50 W - nope. Poor Betta still suffered.. Then I upgraded to a H----er 50W adjustable - total crap - never got above 73 even though I cranked it to the max. This one FINALLY did the trick. Its able to heat a 5 gallon tank perfectly well with wattage to spare. Ive noticed that depending on the temp in the room I may have to adjust up or down about 2 degrees to compensate but it's always within a 2 degree variable range. I have a pretty cold room and if I set the heater at 80 it will hover between 78 and 82 depending on the rise and fall of the room temp. My Betta is FINALLY recovering after a long, iffy road and I really think most of that is due to this heater keeping the water warm enough. Very happy!!! One additional thing I would note is that this is a pretty tall heater so if you have a nano tank you might want to pay attention to the height measurements to make sure it fits well. ... show more

Horrible. Don’t get. Worked well for the first two weeks then stopped heating my tank. It then broke open and nearly fried my tank. Some brown something peaches into my tank so hopefully it won’t kill off any of my fish/snails. I would give this no stars if possible

I have a 5 gallon betta tank with an integrated filter system and this heater fits perfectly in the back!! I have a digital thermometer always reading and it keeps my tank from 81.7-82.0F it doesn't drop any less or go any higher which I appreciate never having to worry about it overheating and frying my fish. The stick on thermometer it comes with isn't all that accurate for me it always about 3 degrees off but it does give you the general range if you're not too worried about temperature! ... show more

Runs hot. Fortunately, I set up our tank before we had any fish. I installed this heater and set the temp to 80 degrees. The next morning the water temp was 86 give or take a degree. I adjusted the heater down to 76/77 and now the temp stays at a constant 79/80. So if you're setting up a new tank without fish, you should be fine until you find the right temp setting. But don't switch heaters to this one when fish are already in the tank. ... show more

I had this heater for a couple months and put off writing a review until I had thoroughly used it or until something went wrong. It definitely is off a couple degrees in terms of settings, but once you figure it out, it isn't a big deal. I was doing a water change the other day and the heater broke. This could have been my fault due to water temp changes, but I've done water changes weekly and have never had an issue (and haven't done anything differently). So it only lasted a couple of months, BUT when it broke, it did not harm any fish. It did not leave shards of glass everywhere. I am going to be looking elsewhere for a replacement because I would like a long term heater, but if you are in a bind, this will do. ... show more

Awesome heater for my 5.5 gallon tank. The settings are very visible and easily adjusted. It included a sticker temperature gauge that can be attached to the outside of the tank, which read accurately within range of my digital thermometer. If you’re just trying to get into a range I think this purchase is all you need but if you’d like a more accurate reading I would get a thermometer of some sort. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I only bought this just in case the tank gets too cold. This shouldn't really happen, but even still, I could run this indefinitely and it wouldn't be too warm either! The included thermometer sticker is a great addon. No, the sticker does not go on the heater. It goes on the tank. This took me longer than I would like to admit.
