Having 5 aquariums, I'm often looking to replace a heater. I like this style very much and will order from this company again. I put the 200 W in 40 gallon and it's kept the temp consistent. I've always used the traditional exposed glass heaters and I keep snails. The snails crawl on the glass heaters and if the heater comes on, the snail gets off of it as quickly as possible, and I imagine that it might be a painful experience for them. When they crawl on this heater, they do not come into direct contact with the glass and they do not have to hurry and jump off if the heater comes on. ... show more

This is my third heater purchase for Nano tanks and this by far is the best one. Built in thermostat with digital display , set the temp you need and it will show 1) Current temp 2) Red led to show it’s heating 3) Turns green Led once the set temp has reached. I checked the accuracy with another thermometer and it’s damn accurate as well. Heats up the water quickly and the design blends well with rest of the tank without being an eye sore. I needed to replace a traditional style aquarium heater and tried this out since the temp is displayed externally. I was worried about one of the reviews that said it defaulted back to the default temp on a power reset. That is not the case. If it loses power, it will come back at the same temp you set it at.
