I was battling the ICH fish disease and one thing requested was to raise the temperature to like 88 degrees to kill them. I have a 90 gallon tank. The other thermometer i had only had a dial and no way to tell the water temps. This one is easy to rad cause its digital and shows the bright red temp of the water and what your setting is. It's easy to use but at first, I didn't know how to LOWER the setting. Well, all you do is keep hitting the button and it goes up to 94 degrees maximum. If you keep hitting the button, it drops way down to like 68, and you can raise it to a different setting. I'm happy with it, You must keep the element under the water at all time because if its in the air, it can damage the heater. ... show more

I have only been using a couple of days. The temperature is off by a few degrees. Tank is set at 80 degrees, but it is really only 77 degrees in the tank. I can live with that.

So far so good. I bought the 500w for my 120 gallon. I had a smaller heater at the other end of the tank, it just wasn't enough for that size tank. I put this one at the other end and it's holding steady. I have it set on 78, it took it awhile to get to temp (less than 24 hrs), but once it got there it's holding steady. Digital thermometer at other end reads 78.7. I would say there is a +/- of 1 degree or less. I'm okay with that... ... show more

Size: 100 Watt Aquarium Heater
This heater is pretty compact, it's the same size as my 5 gallon heater and heats a 20 gallon easily while looking better than the 5 gallon one. The adjustable temperature is accurate, only a 1 degree variation.
