Description

Hisense continues its tradition of bringing affordable televisions with the latest technologies to the masses in the U6H series. In 2021, the U6G series made Quantum Dot Wide Color Gamut more accessible to the masses. In 2022, the U6H series expands on picture quality and audio upgrades and makes the transition to the Google TV operating system. The U6H series adds HDR10+ Adaptive and Dolby Vision IQ to its already long list of supported HDR formats. These technologies incorporate environment lighting considerations to their HDR interpretations making HDR more accurate given how dark or bright the lighting within the room. Game Mode gets an upgrade to Game Mode Plus and adds variable refresh rate at 60Hz for smoother gaming on next generation game consoles. With Wisa ready software, the U6H is now equipped to connect to the latest Wisa compatible speakers for a complete surround sound experience without the need for running speaker wire throughout the room. Creating even more robust audio and visual experiences without price gouging the consumer, the 2022 U6 series continues to be the Hisense television that’s great for everyone.

  • Great TV for the price
Size: 75-Inch
The media could not be loaded. I bought the U6H 75 inch TV in late September, 2022. I am writing this review about 3 weeks later. I am very pleased with the purchase overall. I use the TV to watch movies, sports and TV shows. I am not a gamer, and I am not a TV tech expert. I bought the Hisense S214 soundbar to go with the TV, and I bought a ethernet to USB port adapter to use a wired port from my router to maximize speed. I plug it into the USD port and get about 300 megabits per second speed (the TV has USB 2.0 ports). I watch the TV with Theater Night mode with Motion Smoothing turned off. For 4k (HDR) movies, it looks outstanding. The first movie I tested with is Thor Love and Thunder. The movie has bright color scenes, dark scenes and black and white scenes, so I think the movie is a good test for the TV. I was very pleased with it. For sports - I played around with several modes, including Sports, Theater Day and Theater Night. My original plan was to have a Theater Day settings with motion smoothing for sports, and everything else as Theater Night, but I decided it wasn't worth the effort for me. I enjoyed watching sports on Theater Night mode without motion smoothing, so that is what I kept. 4k Sports are incredible (I have seen football and soccer on it). Regular sports - I think baseball looks best, followed by football. I had not used Google TV before - I am used to the Fire TV, but I found it easy to use. The setup on the TV is easy if you have the Google Home app. I have YouTube TV, and that goes very well with the Google TV. For sound, I use the HDMI ARC port to the Hisense soundbar. I use eARC and passthrough - it seems to sound better to me than the other options (Auto / PCM / Dolby Digital /Dolby Digital Plus). I don't have a Dolby Atmos soundbar so I can't comment on the Dolby Atmos feed from the TV. The CEC works well with the soundbar as I can turn the soundbar and TV on and off and change the volume with the TV remote. Overall, this TV is a great value, especially when I got it on a discount and during their $100 gift card promotion. ... show more

  • Excellent TV for the money
Size: 65-Inch
There is a switch under the middle bottom of the TV that turns off the red standby light. If you’re like me, this is a huge upgrade as I grew up with 27” cathode ray tube (CRT) TVs in the 80s that you had to bang on the side to work sometimes! Who cares about a big name brand or OLED, this picture will blow your mind! That being said, it seems like streaming devices like the Nvidea Shield Pro and Apple TV do improve the picture and sound but is not necessary. I’ve had this TV for a few years and love it!! UPDATE: Have had the tv for over 2 years now and it is still going strong! I really appreciate the eARC feature as it allows me to connect my HDMI Cacke to my AV Receiver. I must say I did invest in an Nvidea Shield TV Pro as it provides better picture and sound. I only got the Nvidea Shield TV Pro as I am an a Novice Audio enthusiast with a 5.2.4 Surround Sound Setup, so it was worth it to me to increase the picture and sound by about 25% (which is extremely hard to do!). If you are just running this tv with a soundbar I would not recommend upgrading the tv with a streaming device. But if you’re all in with a decent Surround Sound system its well worth the money! Especially if you find one on sale, I got mine for $129 instead of $199 and when compared to the newest apple streaming device there really is no comparison. The apple tv has an interface pleasing to the eye but doesn’t make the sound or picture Pop like the Nvidea Shield. The Rokus really have a habbit of making the commercials very loud so after 3 Rokus I finally learned my lesson!! ... show more

  • Honest in depth Review for 65"
Size: 65-Inch
I didn't see many helpful reviews when buying this, so here's a long one: This tv is great, but there are a few drawbacks (all could be solved with a software update), I will go over the good stuff and then address my biggest complaints. -First off, STUNNING picture quality. This TV is absolutely beautiful. You likely will not regret buying it for this alone. The speakers are also actually pretty decent, impressive for built in TV speakers. -The ability for a Google TV to control with Alexa is also amazing, though that control may be limited. Being able to tell my Alexa to control the TV power and input is great, as I run my smart home off of the Alexa system and don't have Google in any room. -GREAT for PC GAMING. If you're looking for a TV that's good for PC gaming without breaking the bank, this is probably it. They don't advertise it, but this TV is compatible with Nvidia G-Sync and AMD freesync, resulting in high performance low latency gaming. Onto the downsides: -setting up Alexa is a pain: Alexa setup for the TV is hidden within the TV advanced settings, and requires a bit fo finagling with account sign in when adding the Hisense skill to your Alexa. -Google assistant SUCKS on this TV. It will randomly activate itself if you're talking around the TV. Many smart TVs solve this by allowing you to turn off "hey Google detection" without turning off Google assistant completely. However, on this TV, that is not the case. You must completely disable Google assistant on the TV if you wish to make it stop interrupting your entertainment. Talk about a bummer! I really enjoyed being able to use Google assistant on this TV, but would much prefer to ONLY activate it via the remote button, which is not an option. -after 2 weeks of use, I've also found the TV UI to be quite slow and buggy at times. I've had to manually unplug the TV twice to reset bugs and freezes already, so that's a little frustrating but it's tolerable. -The final, largest complaint, turning off motion smoothing/content altering picture settings: Many don't know this, but new smart TV's these days often come with a ton of settings turned on by default that alters the way the content was intended to be viewed. Video settings such as motion smoothing, noise reduction, ect...these all artificially alter the way content was intended to be viewed by the directors and editors of the movies & shows you watch. Leading to a different viewer experience from the intended. I found these settings to be buried within 2 different menus, it took about an hour to find all of these settings and turn them off for all content on the TV, which was incredibly frustrating. FYI to help you out, the DOLBY VISION mode will automatically turn on all of these settings, you must edit the DOLBY VISION settings manually, on top of turning these off in the default picture settings menu. Otherwise, motion smoothing and such will be turned back on any time you watch Dolby vision supported content. All in all, I think it's a great TV and could be perfect with a few software updates from Hisense. I hope they do! ... show more
