Features

  • 4K ULED: Like great, but better. The 50U6G has our exclusive ULED technologies. They boost color, contrast, brightness, motion... we could go on. It's the TV your old TV wants to be.
  • Quantum Dot Wide Color Gamut: See over one billion shades. Quantum Dot produces purer, richer, more brilliant colors than a regular LCD TV. We could get into the science. But it's a lot easier to say it makes every day look like the 4th of July.
  • Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos: Dolby Vision HDR picture and Dolby Atmos sound are cinema technology for your home. They provide amazing realism you can see and hear in every scene.
  • Peak Brightness/Full Array Local Dimming Zones: The higher the nit rating, the brighter the screen. Most laptops are between 200-300 nits. Anything over 500 nits is extremely good. This is 600 nits peak brightness across 32 local dimming zones.
  • FilmMaker Mode: This technology is a collaboration between filmmakers, studios, electronics companies, and the UHD Alliance. It disables post-processing and preserves correct aspect ratios, colors and frame rates to display content as it was intended.

  • Good budget TV if it works
Size: 75-Inch Style: U6G Series Pattern: Smart TV
75U6G - 30 days in and was pleased with the overall picture quality , I use the built in apps and fiber to the home . The picture is great for normal use , I would give it a 9 for HD and an 8 for 4k . Couple issues , first the flashlighting effect of bright lights in dark seen can be very annoying but for some reason its more or less prevalent depending which streaming app you are using, seemed worse to me on Prime ,especially Reacher . But yes the halo affect is there and you will have varying degrees of success . As in some days you will notice it and others you will not . It is not too bothersome to me for the most part. Also there is a horizontal lines as in window blinds type affect when they pan a camera vertically on a screen . Ive seen other people report it . I noticed it on Golf when tracking a ball. Overall not an issue for me . Now days 30 to 45. I did not change any apps or software myself on the TV , but now the TV randomly disconnects to the router . No other device drops , it is the only one out of about 25 devices in house. And i have confirmed that the vpn on PC stays up while this happens. The U6G is 6 ft from a Verizon router and signal is strong. It will randomly disconnect , sometimes reconnect sometimes not . I have had varying success with multiple workarounds . Toggle wifi on TV , change network(and5G) , power cycle TV via cord, and power cycle router . The TV reports the wifi failure is authentication every time. Not sure how that is possible? 2nd major issue video on Netflix and Amazon goes out to green screeen or pink screen with digital junk in top or bottom of screen. I had an external antenna connected to the F connector on back . I have now disconnected the antenna which has a built in amp and the problem has been gone for a few hours . The still thumbnails had no problem but an actual movie or a video preview window was not viewable . I will attach a photo in case anyone else has similar issues . I still have this TV and have opened a case with Hisense . First call to support , they were responsive but all the troubleshooting started with a factory reset . Which i would like to avoid for now. They would not have any one look at it until factory reset is done first . They also recommended to run an ethernet cable , which is obvious workaround to the wifi issue and i will do it if I decide to. Playing it by ear for now , hopefully these flaky issues fade away but dissapointed at the moment . Good to great budget TV , but it has to work! Bumped the start rating to 4 , the picture and nuisances to this point are worth the money ... show more

  • Really good picture once glue dries.
Size: 65-Inch Style: U6G Series Pattern: Smart TV
So my husband wanted a 65" 4K for the "Teen Room" in our house, he researched and picked this Hisense U6G unit up at Amazon. On start up he got it all setup and it has better built in sound than Samsung and Sony TV's that we have in "more used" spaces (office, Living Room, Master Bedroom). Sound didn't matter as we have surround sound and sound bars to accommodate the "meh" sound for those TV's. The picture in Movie Mode however is slightly better than Sony 950G, X90J and Samsung Q60R (about as close to it as it gets to the Hisense U6G). Husband said to include some details on issues we saw however: Bad items: 1) Over zealous protective film, somehow it was under a corner of the screen behind the panel (not chassis mind you but PANEL). 2) Glue wasn't dried at factory so there were glue horizontal lines in "tan" backgrounds only on left hand side of screen until it dried. TV had a "glue aroma" during this time when powered on. 3) After latest firmware update suddenly blooming is appearing (very apparent on anything in black background with small white illumination like Windows pre-boot circle dots animation or HBO Max pauses. It did NOT exhibit this behavior before the Firmware Update. 4) Built in Menu's and Apps seem to be only 720p or 1080p but the streaming is in 4K so the menu's look soft. He has a PC that is outputting 4K 30hz (HDMI 1.4a) and it is perfectly clear on desktop (something the Samsung struggled with). 5) App Update errors, had to remove Prime Video completely after an update corrupted it and made it non functional. Used Play Store to reload it. Good Items: 1) Surprisingly Excellent detail out of the box. We finished up streaming in 4K several shows on it instead of on the 75" Sony X90J. QLED vs. LCD. 2) Has a ton of great picture modes. 3) Easy to setup if you have a Google Account. 4) As stated above really surprisingly good sound out of built in speakers and he said it has Atmos so there are some up firing speakers on the back of the TV. Long story short if we need another TV in the future my husband will be looking again at Hisense as it's been a surprise how it looks and sounds. Yes it is cheaper made but for some little annoyances you end up saving say $600 over a Samsung or Sony in same size...he said hands down he'd pay less to get similar or better performance and look at the top 3-4 models in Hisense line again. ... show more
