Description

The reversible ratcheting combination wrenches from GEARWRENCH are a staple for every tool box. The flush-mounted reversing lever allows the user to switch motion left to right without needing to remove the wrench from the fastener increasing productivity. The 15° offset on the ratcheting box end allows for greater knuckle clearance and safer access to the fasteners. The ratcheting box end is designed to need as little as 5° to move fasteners versus 30° for standard wrenches and features off-corner loading for a better grip on the fastener and reduces fastener rounding. The wrenches are made from strong alloy steel with a bright, full polish chrome finish.

The offset business end seems almost impossible to find these days on ANY ratchet combos, and when you do find them, they’re priced at an arm and a leg for a SMALL set! People need to understand the difference between GearWrench and the ‘others’ out there - these have the socket wrench switch at the business end to switch from left to right AND the business end is at a angle, like a standard combo wrench - no dragging your knuckles and bleeding all over your project! Product is good. They need to work on the packaging. Giving as a gift, It’s no problem I’ll take the plastic off. Put the tools back in there place. Box it up and wrap it. That’s beside the point. I shouldn’t be putting it back together. Use better packaging materials!

My local off-road shop has a set of these in Metric and Standard. They have been using these and only these wrenches as their primary set for the past 4 years. They have not failed once and have proved reliable and durable. The directional switch lever is invaluable and the slight bend to the ratcheting side seems to get into the most hard to reach areas. I got rid of all my other ratchet wrenches. These have a slight angle on them. They are amazing. I love that they grip onto everything. It says it's not made to brake bolts. But it does. I put this thing through the wringer every single day at work. And I actually use every single wrench. On American vehicles I'm using a 10, 13,15. On a Mercedes I catch myself using the twelves the 11th the 14th. once you have this you'll never use any other wrench. This is my go-to set. I have now grabbed all my other wrenches and Chuck them in a lower drawer and have this one available for quick easy access. I would recommend this to anybody. if you have a hard-to-reach place to get to this will do it. The only thing I have negative about it is the ratcheting part, its a little thick it's hard to squeeze into certain places. but still these things are awesome I'm telling you. I ordered this set to compliment another non-reversible ratcheting set that I have, plus this set comes with the 21 mm - 24 mm wrenches, please note: the 20 mm is skipped! The delivery was a day late and the package was intact. However, upon opening the package, since the wrenches were packed in a cardboard box w/ no padding, the thin plastic wrapper was torn due to rough handling attained during shipping causing the wrenches to break loose from the holder and just rattling inside the box. As the result, all the wrenches attained visible damage to the chrome finishing, with deep cuts and pits as though they have been used in the shop for a while. I include snapshots of some wrenches for illustration, where cuts and pits are visible through-out. The 12 mm's open end attained cuts, pits and a deep gash. The cuts and pits on the 19 mm and 21 mm. Regarding the quality, two of the wrenches were slightly bent. The offset angle was inconsistent on some of the wrenches as shown in the snapshot showing the angle of the 10 mm and 9 mm, where the angle on the 10 mm is a lot less. The ratching ends on the wrenches were smooth on some wrenches while tight on others, and the reverse levers on some wrenches were tight and hard to operate. I tried to loosen them with a dab of silicon grease, which helps to loosen them up. The wrench holder is sturdy, but lack the capability to keep the wrenches in place, so it is not suitable for hanging nor keeping in the drawer b/c the wrenches will come loose upon knocking into them accidentally while looking for tools in the drawer. 07/14/23 Update: Instead of returning, I have reached-out to GW Customer service for replacements about a week ago and received an auto acknowledge email with a case number. No other response from GW yet. 07/24/23 Update: I have not heard back from GW yet, however the ratcheting end of the 9 mm has locked-up while being used to loosen a small brake bleeding valve. It worked fine at first, then the ratcheting mechanism locked-up suddenly. I had to use a regular (non-ratcheting) wrench to continue with the job. 09/09/23 Update: GW has responded last week, and I have received the replacement for the defected wrenches described above. 08/17/2024 Update: I have been using these wrenches often, and they have been working for me in most situations where the space was not an issue. However, occasionally, where the space was tight, I have to revert to using my old ones, which are a lot thinner than these wrenches. ... show more
