This came "free" bundled with my second Hisense U6HF TV. It's not such a smooth operator with the EARC if you have other HDMI inputs added to your TV. ** The unit has an automatic shut off (some form of energy saving) that will turn the unit off in 15 minutes . Many reviewers complained about this and returned the unit. Two things 1) It will also turn your HISENSE TV off at the same time 2) There is a fix, actually written in the manual though in fine print. You need to have the audio source (computer, play station) playing audio loudly. Remember the sound bar is the actual output source but if I had Youtube playing very low on the computer--the sound bar can't "register" or "hear" the sound, but with the computer audio all the way up and Youtube all the way up, the shut off won't occur. The sound bar can be set to low so you won't get some booming loud sound, just what ever you choose via the sound bar. If the computer is not playing audio and I'm using my Hisense as a monitor--it (the sound bar --and TV) will shut off and I have to wiggle the mouse to reengage the monitor. You can play music at your computer but turn the sound bar volume down , and it won't shut off your important work for the day. This is all using the bar, as designed, as an EARC unit. Bad form on Hisense for not having a do not sleep , do not turn off setting. Oddly when I'm using the computer via HDMI, if I shut the sound bar off, the audio will come through the TV speakers even though in settings I've turned the TV audio off. It must only be a feature that works using the TV as a TV but not applicable for the inputs. When I shut the soundbar off and am using the Fire TV as a TV, the TV audio won't come on so once you put the sound bar on, it's God or Goddess. I wired the sound bar via EARC to the TV. I also have a computer running into the same TV via HDMI 2.0. Got good audio relative to the size. For the $50 it's currently listing at, I'd say grab one. It'll be fine for a small office, guest room, dorm. So the computer audio works too, as would gaming devices or anything else roped through the EARC TV w/ HDMI inputs. If you want to fiddle with the sound, you go to your TV audio settings if it's TV generated sound. Computer sound for computer tweaking. I turned the bass up a bit to make it sound less flat. I read somewhere that the TV (Hisense U6H) had comparable sound to the sound bar. I got curious and did do an A/B comparison and yes --they do sound similar, TV produces similar sound to the sound bar at differing volumes---that said when the volume is raised, the sound bar can play louder than the TV and to my ears sounds slightly better.

We recently upgraded our TV, but as is the case with most new tv's the sound quality out of the tv speakers was at best average. Decided to take a flyer on a low cost alternative in this sound bar. Pleased all in all with it so far. Upfront, I will state that the sound quality is not a match for other much more higher priced sound bars you might listen to in Best Buy or some other store. That said, the sound is loads better than my TV sound. Voices can be heard clearly. When the volume is pumped up, you do get a better experience when viewing movies with big sounds like Star Trek, Godzilla, etc. Connection using HDMI eARC on my TV was very straightforward. When I turn the TV on, the sound bar comes on as well and is immediately controllable using the TV remote. I can't change the sound bar's sound mode with the TV remote, so I do have to use the included remote, but I have pretty well settled on movie mode with surround turned on. Probably if I were doing a straight comparison to a higher end sound bar with a detached subwoofer, I might only rate this sound bar a 3 across the board, but given what it is replacing and our need to not go super high end for sound, a 4 seems appropriate and it certainly I think is worth the cost if you simply want to upgrade your sound without spending an arm and a leg.

I'm a home theater type of guy. Never been a fan of soundbars but I needed something cheap that would replace my bedroom TV internal speakers as they sound bad. It's a 2018 TCL Roku TV which also recognized the soundbar. Everything function as they should. Also bought it to play ambient sounds through bluetooth to go to sleep lol. Out of all 3 sound modes the movie mode is my favorite. Music mode has not much bass and is not warm as I like everything to sound. However that could be personal taste and you might find the other modes to better fit your listening. News mode is okay for, well, watching news. In conclusion, it's a solid sound bar and for the price it's an excellent choice to get a better sound experience out of your TV. As I mentioned I bought it for my bedroom and didn't want anything crazy. For a living room, however, I'd go with their bigger sound bar or do what I did and build yourself a dedicated home theater system for a much better sound; if money isn't the issue that is.

This review is for the 2.0 version. Bought this to go with a 55" TV. the sound from this at max volume won't shake the house, but is loud enough for my needs. The sound is clear. Power and volume work fine through HDMI ARC; no extra configuration was necessary. Plug and play made it the best for the setup in which this was installed. I was able to mount under the TV with a universal sound bar bracket with the included wall mount bolts. The only negative I can find is that volume adjustment is done in small increments and it takes quite a few presses of + or - to get the volume change to be noticeable.

For $80 it's not bad. It's not a huge improvement over the Speakers on my 55" Hisense U7H 2022 unless your talking Bass. That little Sub definitely delivers more Bass. The Surround Sound isn't that great but on most 2 Channel setups it isn't since it's Virtual. I opt to leave this setting off. It just produces too much Trebel. The Music EQ is probably the best setting for everything with the Bass up to about 2 or 3 out of 5. HDMI ARC works as expected and on my Hisense U7H I left Digital Audio out on Auto. Play with the settings. That's my suggestion. For some Content the Virtual Surround works well like National Geographic. My 2016 Vizio Sound Bar with Wireless Woofer blows it out of the Water but I wanted HDMI ARC and I didn't need a dedicated Subwoofer. Neighbors didn't like it. This one delivers enough. The 2022 Hisense U7H actually has some pretty decent TV Speakers but you don't get any Bass. For $80 it's going to do the job. But if your looking for a larger louder Sound Stage or Home Theater experience I'd go bigger. Apartment Dwellers, you'll be happy with this although.
