Size: 8,000 BTU Style: Heat and Cool Smart Inverter
While my central AC's being repaired, 2 of these units are filling in (1 on each floor of a townhouse). They've held up well, including over a 90F degree weekend. They've not only kept their immediate rooms cool, they've kept other rooms on their respective floors tolerable. The dual hoses and inverter have vented most of the heat in the correct direction. Haven't had to insulate the hoses at all. They were trivial to install into the window panels, and the panels were pretty easy to install into the window. Sound levels have been tolerable. There's a bit of humming and slight vibrating at the lowest temp (61F), but they're easily the quietest portable units I've ever heard. The self-evaporating feature has worked perfectly so far. It's so nice not needing to drain it every 10-12 hours (or having to hook up a hose). Unpacking was a model for other similar devices. While there's plenty of padding at the bottom, it's just a matter of cutting the nylon straps and lifting the box up; no need for tipping or for having to cut open the long side of the box. The manual and accessories are nestled in one of the insulation bits, so keep an eye out for them. As for issues, the weight and size are greater than expected. Lifting them up 1-2 flights wasn't easy, even for a reasonably fit person. Fully recommend a handcart with straps, especially a cart that'll handle stairs easily. The units wheel alright over hard surfaces. Carpet or rugs are a bit trickier. Other than that is the power draw. These 2 units have consumed 50% more electricity than my central AC does during comparable weather. Not exactly a surprise, but something to keep in mind. Lastly is one minor UX piece. It'd be nice for the temperature buttons to have a hold feature. As is, the buttons need to be pressed for each degree you wish to adjust. In other words, if it's currently set to 70F and I want to change it to 75F, I have to push the button 5 times (instead of pressing once and holding). Can't speak to the bluetooth or remote control features as I haven't used them yet. Overall, I'm pleased with these units. They're the best portable ACs I've used. They'll fill in well for my purposes, and it's good to have backup units again. ... show more

New York City has been experiencing extremely hot weather recently. To cope with the heat, it's natural to keep the air conditioner running at home. However, the AC in my parents' room is very old. Although it still functions, it produces a loud, tractor-like noise. The noise is so intense that it becomes uncomfortable, even though the unit cools the room. I eventually chose this Hisense model. Traditional window units often have more dependable technology than some newer designs. This unit includes a user-friendly control panel and a remote control. With the remote, my parents can easily adjust the temperature, fan speed, and mode. The installation was simple, but the 10,000 BTU unit is heavy. I asked my parents to help me lift it into the window. After we turned it on, the room cooled quickly. The strong cooling power made the room feel better quickly. When the room got cool, we turned on Eco mode. We turned on Eco mode. This helps save energy costs. The AC also has a timer that works for 24 hours. After setting it, they don’t need to wake up to turn it off. This helps them sleep through the night. Overall, this Hisense unit is a strong performer. It is quiet, efficient, and easy to use. just replaced the broken old portable ac with this new new windows unit, first thing I saw this is huge unit , square shaped and allure long, 12000btu good for 500 square foot big room, so I also bought a ac bracket to hold this unit , so don’t need to screw anything, easy to install, first time running good, noise are acceptable, not loud, phone apps function available or just simply use the remote , big btu, means better cooling, this week was terrible hot, this working very good, cooling very quickly, that’s the most important I want, , this unit design are similar to the most brand with temperature number display all different mode are available, fan, ac and air dehumidifier, one more is the air filters, easy to access and clean install , design for easy self maintenance! Cools exceptionally well & the ability to operate the AC through ConnectLife App is great Though can be buggy at times not working... Love the DRY mode for upstairs bedrooms where in my home, humidity is high & temps is ~10+ degree differential compared to lower floor. Its quick to lower temp & feels like COOL is on. Its a little pricey but for sale price of $314 seemed like a no brainer....could of went with cheaper 8000 BTU unit at walmart but with a lower CEER rating 15 vs 10~11 which can easily result in over $40-50+ more upon the light bill over this summer. As long this unit hopefully lasts at minimum 3 years, it will be worth it. Cons: It can be a little loud (especially if run at high but does have a QUIET mode through the App) & unsure if my unit has a defect/bug but on FAN or DRY mode the AC unit doesn't display the temperature (Just " - - "). It does show the temperature in the connectlife App though... - lastly find it odd with all this inverter tech, there isnt a AUTO fan option (so it can i assume dynamically lower or rise the fan speed accordingly to temp set & other parameters) ... show more
