PLEASE READ i have a 10000btu fridgeair unit that works 5x better than this. It does not blow hard at all and can not cool down a 300sqft room its very quiet but at the price of being very not good. I wouldnt buy this again in fact im trying return it had high hopes for this but its not what i thought. It just seems off honeslty the window feature is really nice and install is super easy but this unit will NOT cool down more than 250sq ft. This brand make great portable units this design is just horrible ... show more

I had to return my Midea U-shaped AC due to the recall, and this Hisense unit is the perfect replacement. It's just as quiet (sometimes even quieter), cools my room fast, and the L-shape design still lets me open the window a bit. I was hoping for a quality product similar to that of Hisenses TV. However, this AC was not it. No controls on the unit itself. Poor software to the point where the only way to turn it off was by unplugging it. Maybe I got a lemon, maybe not. Either way, if you want a lower profile AC with the "U shape" go with the another brand. UPDATE: After living with this AC for a few weeks, I am revising the stars up to 4. This unit easily cools a large space while still remaining quiet despite the 90 degree + temperature outaide. However, the lack of controls on the front is unfortunate and the initial issues turning the unit off are still troublesome, though rare. The media could not be loaded. It is getting hot lately, we decided to install this window AC to our bedroom. Setting it up wasn’t hard. I followed the instructions and got it installed pretty quickly. Once it was in, it felt steady and secure. When I turned it on, it was quieter than I thought. I also like using the remote or the app to change the temperature from bed. It’s simple and I don’t have to get up in the middle of the night if I want to make adjustments. The size works well too and the L shaped design is smart. It doesn’t cover the whole window, so some sunlight still comes in during the day. What’s also nice is how it keeps the temperature steady without much effort from me. It turns on and off when needed, so the room stays comfortable through the night. it’s been working just fine and I’m happy with this choice. When this AC works, we are happy with it. Here are pros and cons. PROS - it's actually pretty quiet. More quiet than the supposedly very quiet portable AC we have in the bedroom. - It looks fine. CONS - yesterday it would turn on but not function. No cooling or fan, but the lights were on. It took unplugging it and leaving it for a while to get it to work again. - The part that blows out air is some inches lower than regular window A/Cs, and since cold air sinks I'm using a secondary fan to try to blow the cold air up and over the space I'm cooling. I do have the A/C fins positioned to help this too. With the second fan I'm using, it is not all that quiet anymore. - I'm good at installing things and following instructions but I had to get a magnifying glass (reading glasses didn't cut it) to see, in the sketches, what they were trying to explain in clunkily translated words. Installing took a lot longer than I expected and did not seem intuitive. - We had to improvise because our window is wider than this is made to fit into. We just used some styrofoam from the packaging to close up the excess open parts of the window. This is my mistake because if I had measured I'm sure I would have seen this accommodates narrower windows. Still, it does seem like it should be made to fit into wider windows. - This has a higher BTU than a portable Frigidaire A/C we already own, but I don't think this one cools as well as the Frigidaire does. Was looking for a replacement air conditioning unit since old one was giving out so I bought this one after a recommendation from a friend who had a great experience, I must say that is is exactly as advertised and fantastic. It was delivered undamaged with no missing parts or anything which is great. This unit was very easy to install and instructions were clear on how to use it. It almost instantly started cooling down my living room as soon as I turned it on. Great unit definitely recommend It’s very quiet even at different power levels, was surprised at how quickly it cooled down the room and how silent it was you’d barely notice that it is on at all. The media could not be loaded. Loud ticking noise in Quiet Mode. Watch the video, this defeats the entire purpose of getting this air conditioner. I'm not sure if this is damaged during shipping or factory defect. Amazon also don't have stock for replacement, so I ended up returning it.
