  • I love TV's and computer monitors with IPS panels -- wide viewing angle and easy on the eyes.
Size: 65-Inch
The Hisense 65QD7N has an IPS panel. If you research the difference between IPS and VA panels, you will be told over and over again that VA panels have a super high contrast ratio, meaning blacker blacks and whiter whites than an IPS panel. This is true. You will also be told that IPS panels have a wider viewing angle than VA panels. This is also true. If you read reviews about 65 inch TV sets, like reviews by the rtings web site, they will always give TVs with IPS panels a bad rating because it doesn't have the high contrast ratio that VA panels have. VA panels suffer from a VERY narrow viewing angle. All of the VA panel TVs I've seen only look good if you are viewing it from a point perfectly perpendicular to the center of the screen. The poor viewing angle of VA TVs is often times so bad that two of the three people sitting on a couch watching TV or playing video games will not be happy and will want to trade seats with the guy in the middle seat. TV reviews, like the rtings web site, will often times describe TVs with IPS panels as "terrible" because of the low contrast ratio, but they will rarely describe TVs with VA panels as "terrible" because of the narrow viewing angle. If you will be watching TV or playing video games on your 65 inch TV with a couple of other people, then the Hisense 65QD7N is a good choice, especially at the $399 price. Don't under-estimate the benefit of the wide viewing angle that this IPS panel gives you. And if you are a gamer with an xbox or similar, this TV rocks with native 144Hz 4K and Dolby Vision Gaming. HDMI ports 3 and 4 are both 4K 144Hz. HDMI ports 1 and 2 are 4K 60Hz. HDMI port 1 is used as the eARC port if you have a speaker system that needs it. But this TV also has a headphone out jack, so you can use the output from it as a "line-in" to typical powered stereo speakers. Technically speaking, the headphone out is not a "line level" signal, but it works as a line out -- you just have to adjust the volume to get it right. One thing about "edge-lit" IPS panels that often times freaks people out when they first look at it is the glowing backlight coming through around the edges. It makes people think the screen is defective. It's probably not -- that is typical for "edge-lit" IPS panels when the brightness is up and the panel is displaying near black at those places. In actual use, once you have the brightness and other settings adjusted best for the lighting in your room and you are actually watching TV or Game content, that "backlight bleed through" will be barely noticable and only in certain scenes -- and that's only if you are actually looking for it. I am really glad I finally found a big TV with an IPS panel, and at a bargain price. Nice! AndyH ... show more

  • Best value around in a QLED 85"
Size: 85-Inch
Absolutely love this TV. I've had it for almost 2 months. Coming from a Samsung 65" curved TV. The picture and sound quality is amazing. No detectable motion blur or lag times when watching movies or gaming using the PS5. Make sure you correspond the correct HDMI ports for the item being used in those ports. Two of the HDMI ports accept higher refresh rates from gaming consoles, etc, while the other 2 HDMI ports are for standard refresh rates and of course one is the ARC connection for your sound bar. This TV had all the bells and whistles. Which leads me to the only negative of the TV in my personal opinion. It has a built in camera for taking photos when you command it to and can see hand gestures so as to pause, play, etc the TV. Call me paranoid but I don't need a new security/privacy issue coming from my TV while I'm watching it. There is an option to turn this off. Like any smart device, use your own judgement and exercise caution. Take the time to learn about all this TV's features. Once again, that's not a flaw of the TV just a personal preference on my part. The TV has Google TV built in with voice command (this doesn't have to be used or enabled) , flawless picture, limitless options for fine tuning. Excellent sound quality, especially when connected to a sound bar through the ARC HDMI. I was a little hesitant on the brand at first but did my research over a period of a few months. When comparing similar TV's in this price range, I was hard pressed to find another one that came close to this TV's specifications and features. I chose the 85" QLED model. It has native 144Hz and motion rate at 240. Most TV's in this price range only offer a native 60Hz refresh rate. Being QLED, you get the added benefit of direct full array lighting which gives you a much more uniform picture as compared to edge lighting. The black and darker colors are true to their perspective colors and the colors themselves are vibrant and crisp, sharper for lack of better words. If I had to find a small complaint compared to the Samsung it replaced, is that the power supply is a bit louder when switching off or on but it is a much larger TV so I imagine that's to be expected. Again, not anything of great concern. When making a commitment to a new TV, especially this large, do a little bit of homework and compare. I'm completely satisfied with my decision to give Hisense a chance. ... show more

  • This much quality for this price? The Hisense QD7 brings giant-screen cinema and gaming experiences.
Size: 85-Inch
A Giant Surprise — This TV is Seriously Impressive ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I’ve used a lot of TVs over the years, but the Hisense 85" QD7 genuinely surprised me—in the best possible way. I picked it up mostly because of the price (you just don’t find 85” QLED panels in this range), but what I got in return was so much more than I expected. Let’s start with the picture quality. The blacks are shockingly deep for a TV in this price bracket. It handles contrast beautifully, with fine detail even in dark scenes. The Quantum Dot color reproduction is vivid but natural—not that artificial “glow” you get with some cheaper panels. Watching movies in 4K HDR feels cinematic. What really sets it apart is the response time. Fast-paced scenes in games or action films come through smooth and crisp—no ghosting, no blurring. I’ve got a PS5 hooked up and the gaming experience is next-level. Also, I was pleasantly surprised by the side-viewing performance. Even when we’re sitting off to the side, the picture holds its color and clarity really well. Honestly, the only part that didn’t blow me away is the sound. It’s fine for casual use, but if you want to match the image quality with audio, you’ll definitely want to add a soundbar or external speakers. That’s a small trade-off though, especially considering everything else this TV delivers. For anyone looking for a giant, premium-level screen without the premium price tag, the QD7 is a total win. Hisense nailed it. ... show more

  • Used as a online gaming TV
Size: 65-Inch
Do not buy the 65QD7N for gaming. It's supposed to be a gaming TV, but it's crap. It flickers and flashes and will cause the game to crash. Hisense has NO customer support. You can't find a phone number andwhere and if you do a live chat they will try to hand you off to a tech that will want a credit card number before trying to help with the problem. Believe me I've tried everything to get this TV to game. I have all the right hardware and other TV's I've used in the past worked fine with my PC. This TV just can't deliver what Hisense says it can. Junk........save your money and find something better. Update: At some point the TV software was updated and that fixed most of the problems. I was running this TV for gaming and had it plugged into my computers Nvidia 3090ti video card. I updated the HDMI cable to a high quality 1.2 cable and that was the fix. Now I can run the game at 144Hz and 4k with HDR on, VRR on, and ALLM on and it is very stable. Picture is absolutely great. Took a lot of google searches to find the solution to the problems but after that, it was golden! I did send the set back due to having about 11 dead pixels. I would recommend this set as a great gamming TV. ... show more

  • Solid option.
Size: 75-Inch
Sound isn't the greatest, but would probably be better near a wall on a hard stand. Ours is elevated in the middle of the room, so it has no acoustic benefit from wall or tv stand being close behind and underneath. Picture decent, even in a bright room. Good contrast and color across a wide viewing angle. ... show more

  • Well worth the money Well worth the money
Size: 75-Inch
Item didn't arrive when Amazon originally said it would, not a huge deal, didn't really expect it in two days anyways. It arrived with the box in great shape, no damage at all, was a little worried from other reviews. Unpacking wasn't too difficult, I bought some different legs for it so it sits higher, these installed super easy. The picture is great coming from my 6 year old Vizio. Is it as good as my roommates Hisense u8, prob not, but at this price point, it's more than good enough for me. I only notice the back lighting issues talked about in other reviews when the TV is booting up, otherwise haven't noticed anything bad or annoying. I love that it is a Google TV, I have been using Google TV/Chromecast for years now, so nothing new to learn for me, plus I can control my Google home with this TV, which is awesome. My Xbox plays super smooth, noticed the high refresh rate right away, with movies and sports as well. My only complaint is the UI is a little sluggish at times, but that's far from a deal breaker. If you're on the fence about buying this TV, just buy it, you won't regret it. I'm glad I splurged the extra 130 bucks or whatever it was at the time to get the 75 over the 65, 65's are so 2020 lol. Can't really comment on sound quality, it's plenty good in my bedroom, in a bigger living room you may want a sound bar from what I've read in other reviews, I have bluetooth headphones I use most of the time anyways. ... show more

Size: 85-Inch
Don’t recommend at all, tvs gpu broke literally a year later from light use. Customer service with Hisense was so inconsistent with 0 help. Multiple times they stated they’ll honor the warranty and wait weeks later for them to just say there’s nothing they can do. A waste of oxygen to even attempt to speak with them. ... show more

  • High quality TV, used for Gaming, Movies, my PC's Monitor!
Size: 75-Inch
I have been a Hisense customer since 2012, most people would usually scoff at the name since its not (LG, Samsung, Sony). They would be shocked to know this TV is cheaper in price and performs the same if not better. My first hisense was a 1080p 55" in 2012, its picture compared to all of the others at walmart was by far better, crisp and vivid colors. This is my 6th Hisense purchase, i had a 65" 4k 60hz in 2019, and just Upgraded to this awesome screen, a 75" Hisense with 144hz refresh. using this with a PC with a high end GPU is better than a high end monitor, no screen tear, has Nvidia Gsync and AMD's equivilent. The picture cannot be beat and since my 2012 hisense is STILL GOING with no issues, I will always be a Hisense Customer! ... show more
