I am pleased with this ankle wrap for my heel and arch pain. It is exactly like the Futuro wrap I’ve had over 20 years and was falling apart. One thing I had to do was carefully trim the width of the rough velcro tab because it is exactly the size of the elastic and if it was too hard to line it up perfectly so not to irritate my skin. Easy enough to do but I would suggest that the manufacturer implement that small change.

I got this strap as it looked as if it would provide support to the foot in front of the outside ankle and it does. This is a light support strap and will not keep your ankle rigid. But it does provide support for soft tissue issues. Due to circulation issues, I cannot use too strong of compression as my foot and leg would swell too much on either side, so this provides light compression without being overly restrictive. Not sure that it would fit inside a shoe, but I will wear with open-backed sandals which should be fine. As long as you can bend over to adjust the strap, it is easy to use. It does come with an instruction sheet on how to wrap the strap.

This HiRui brace is tough yet not too thick so my shoe still fits. I ordered a different one (Kitsay) where the loop that goes around the foot had thin rubber-band type fibers that broke after two weeks (see photo). The foot loop on this HiRui is a lot stronger and tougher yet still comfortable.

This seems like it would be a good brace for a sprained ankle, but when I wore it for my sore Achilles it was quite uncomfortable and maybe even made it worse. I found a different kind that was great. I'll keep this on hand for the next sprained ankle since my old Futuro is wearing out, and maybe it'll redeem itself.
