Love this as my coturnix quail egg incubator. Easy to operate and setup. Just dont forget you have to add the second watwr bottle at lock down. The light for candling is super bright. If you have 18 plus gram quail eggs you will not fit 48. 43-44 jumbo quail eggs. Will be back for a second one. So easy to clean after hatch as well. Very happy with it.

Nice small in incubator. In trial it seems very reliable - great for teaching. Eggs come tomorrow though so I can tell you more in three weeks.

Waiting for them to hatch

I have been hatching eggs for 15+ years. I was pretty happy with this incubator when it first arrived. Set up was easy. Put in 36 quail eggs. Added water for the humidity and the bottle completely emptied. Had to pull the eggs out and dump the water. Tried the smaller well, same thing but it had overflowed into a non well area. Had to dump it out a second time. Put a cap full of water in. Humidity was about 40%. Then the alarm started. The alarm is for whenever the humidity drops below 40%. I usually dry hatch but was willing to play with incubator. Everything was looking good and went to bed. To be rudely woken every other hour or so. It got unplugged around 4 am. The second day, I put in sponges, hoping to stablize the humidity and have it stay above 40% for more than 3 hours. Second night, I had it at 58% humidity around 11pm. Was up at 4 to add more water. Last night, I did the same thing and was up at 3 and it went off again at 7. I have never had an incubator that used so much water. I also hatch dark Marans eggs and there is no way this incubator will work. So it is being returned.

Had a problem with stabilized humidity at first. Isn't "ideal" for hatching quail eggs, (which I do about 1000 a year of) due to spacing on the slide tray, but it hatched some eggs so....guess it's an incubator.
