Fortunately I have not had this lock tested by a thief but all the reviews I have read and watched say the same thing and that is that this is one of the best locks money can buy. If you have an expensive bike don't waste your money on something cheap only to have that precious bike of yours gone in a flash. Do yourself a favor and also get the BR1000 mount that goes nicely on the back rack and you won't even notice its there as there is a bit of weight to this lock. It's true you do get what you pay for and this lock gives me the peace of mind I need if I do have to lock up my bike. ... show more

This lock is absolutely ridiculous! It’s so thick and heavy, coupled with my 3/4” thick cable, nobody’s stealing my bike! Well I mean jeez I guess if they had heavy duty equipment and all day to work on it but not on a short trip to the store! Its an amazing lock. For my scooter it does a fantastic job of keeping it secured on the bike parking loops in NYC. My only complaint is that its a bit too thick to properly loop this over a road bike wheel and frame. Atleast from my experience: I have quick release wheels, and I've found this bike lock to be hard to secure over my wheel unless I just want my frame. If you're okay with not having your hybrid bicycle wheels locked, then this is a solid contender for other vehicles. ... show more

Instead, the item I received was clearly used and completely defective: The lock body was cracked Small metal parts fell out from inside The lock couldn’t function properly at all This was not a new or safe item.
