Originally got it for the wife to do hip thrusts as she didn't find the barbell comfortable, even with the padding. However she's been having some stomach pain and hasn't been using it or working out. I will update the review when she gets to feeling better and starts working out again. Currently, I don't do hip thrusts personally, but if I was to do so I'd just use the barbell as I need the extra weight from the plates to get anything out of the exercise.

Over the years I've established a pretty comprehensive home gym - treadmill, weight bench, a punching bag, a complete set of dumbbells and various balls/bands. Obviously, the big advantage a "real" gym has over my home set-up are the specialized machines that target specific areas. So a simple solution like this is a great addition. I can turn my dumbbells into hands-free weights attached to various parts of my body - waist, hips, legs. It works just fine and I'm generally pleased.

I got this for doing hip thrusters and it works perfectly with dumbbells. it is MUCH more comfortable than trying to just do hip thrusters or glute bridges with a dumbbell or kettlebell directly on your hips! Personally I'm doing them while watching TV using the edge of my couch instead of a bench for my shoulders. You can do quite a bit of volume zoning out watching a half hour show! The instructions are four pictures and obviously translated to English, but it's velcro and a strap so can't really mess it up. It's wide enough to be comfortable and not have the strap digging into you, but also small enough to easily store. It shows you can use it with plates and kettlebells, but I wouldn't recommend either of those options. With kettlebells there is slack at the bottom of movements, because kettlebell handles are higher off the floor than with dumbbells. The buckle won't fit through standard 1" plate holes, so you'd have to use Olympic plates. It's a bit awkward to use with plates. If you really want variability of weights, just use adjustable dumbbells.

I was skeptical about this thrust belt until I opened it and tried it out. This thing works. I'm restarting my workout journey and I'm working on my lower body and Inserting my 3lb bars on each side and thrusting up from the floor...I really feel it. I was pleasantly surprised. This belt is very well made, but if you are a currier person you may have an issue with sizing so keep that in mind. It's very sturdy and really easy to use. It really works.

As a beginner to working out and weights I was finding it difficult and uncomfortable trying to keep weights in place during hip thrusts/glute bridges. This belt has made it so much easier and is slip resistant. Highly recommend.

As someone who needs more hip and lower body strength, this is helping. I shy away from the hip thrust machines at the gym... plus, theyre always being used. This is an awesome solution. The band holds the weights steady, so i dont need to worry about them falling out or anything. Awesome band if you have some weights at home!!

I don't love going to the gym but I do like squeezing in mini-workouts throughout the day. When I saw this Hip Thrust Belt -- I thought it would be the perfect hamstring workout to compliment lunges. My butt is getting a good workout! It was easy to add 8 pound weights that I already had. The velcro holds the weights tight and then there's a strong clip that doubly insures security. The belt is easy to use and comes with directions that have pictures -- which gave me a visual image of more exercises. This is a nice addition to any home gym workout. And -- basically as I see it -- one size fits all.
