I would recommend this bike to anyone who wants a great value. The bike is well made and looks nice and the price is well worth it. Unfortunately my bike had some shipping damage. The fork was bent when we took it out of the box. I contacted Hiland and they told me to get the fork replaced and they would refund the total. That is just what happened. I received this bike on time and undamaged. The bike only took about 15 minutes to assemble and tweak the derailleur and disc brakes and it was ready to ride. Its a very nice looking bike, good frame and I was surprised how light the 6-spokes wheels are. The only reason I didn't give this a 5-star is because the front hub locking skewer was the wrong part - it was about 3 inches too long. I was also a little disappointed that the rear hub is not a quick release (with locking skewer), but rather a conventional nut and bolt hub. My bad for not researching the Shimano derailleur gear used on this bike, it's just about the cheapest Shimano gear you can by and as a result, does not justify the $349 I paid for the bike. Only time will tell if the cheap Shimano gear will hold up. I've been riding the pretty hard, daily, for about 10 days now and it seems to be holding up well. ... show more

I purchased this bike to pick up a hobby to help me quit smoking and couldn't be happier. Arrived earlier than expected and was easy to assemble. The first weekend I rode it 3.5 miles & 8.9 miles, I figured out where to make adjustments and how / when to shift gears (it's been over 24 years since I was on a bicycle). The only downside for me was the bike seat (the seat that came with it made my but sore after about 6 miles) and was a little rough going over bumps and cracks in the road (but that was due to a higher tire pressure). After ordering a new seat (I recommend the Everlasting Comfort Ventilated Bike Seat Cushion) and trying out different tire pressures it rides very well. My second weekend of having it I rode it 3 days in a row of 20-25 miles a day and my distance was only limited because I ran out of water. My legs feel like spaghetti (but I'm good with that) and my butt feels fine and found a few more things to tweak / tighten on the bike and installed a third water bottle mounted to my handle bars. ... show more

This bike is an absolute piece of crap. While the majority of the bike comes put together the parts that need assembly or adjustment are so tightly screwed together I stripped the cheap tools that came with the product just loosening them to complete assembly and configuration. The bike has cheap parts. The disk brakes took an hour to adjust (still not quite right with slight rubbing) and were slightly warped. The gearing is completely out of synch. The front derailleur was perpetually stuck in 2nd. It's taken hours to adjust and still does not shift properly. Plan on taking several hours to complete the assembly or budget resources to take it to a professional. I am completely disappointed and deeply regret my purchase. I would give this purchased product multiple negative stars if I could. After spending several hours completing the Bike assembly, I grudgingly took it to a professional technician to review my work since I had lost all confidence in the product. The technician stated that the Bike appeared to have been assembled at the factory by "two blind men who had never seen a Bike". The brake disks were warped which he repaired. The rear derailleur was damaged during shipping and the front derailleur was completely out of alignment perpetually locked in 2nd gear with 6 sub-gears at best. I spent two days and an additional $100 completing the assembly. I do not recommend purchasing this brand of bike nor will I ever purchase this product brand again. ... show more

    • Assembly not for beginners. Shocks and gears are funky

I have not biked in 10’years and haven’t assembled a bike in a solid 15 years. This bike came in a box. Assembly took me quite a while. I felt incompetent assembling the front tire/ quick release lever until I youtube’d my issues. The brakes took me a while to accurately adjust. The gears were a process to adjust for all 21 gears. I have geared it to function well mostly in the mid and slow gears. The bottom fast 4 gears are a bit funky. The shocks appear to slam back a lot while traversing over bumpy terrain or lifting the front tire off the ground. All in all, this bike is ok. I wouldn’t take it on a back country excursion without doing more work on the gears and figuring out how to beef up the front fork shocks first. ... show more

Good entry level option, bought a pair for my wife and I, uncomplicated assembly, nice looking bikes. One came with saddle/seat bent frame and scratched, but seller helped with replacement. Ordered two bikes. The orange one, came and the tire was mounted in the wrong direction (arrow was pointing the wrong way for rotation). In addition, the brake disc rubs and cannot be adjusted enough to not rub. The other issue I have is with the shifters. No matter how much I adjust them, they will not adjust at all. My next step is to go to a bicycle shop to hopefully get the shifters where they will actually work properly. One last thing is the seat is not as comfortable as I expected and I had to order a bigger seat. For the second bike, the red one, I have the same complaints. The shifters dont not perform properly but I have not tried to make major adjustments to the shifters on this bike like I did the orange one. Again, the front tire was installed backwards and the seat uncomfortable. In addition, the frame was damaged in a couple of spots/scratched up. Have a similar issue with the front brake disc dragging that cannot be adjusted for. For as much money that I paid for these bikes (over $600!) I would expect these things to work like a Ferrari! I'd expect this kind of crap from a Walmart bike. ... show more
