I have previous experience with other consumer level night vision gear and am quite impressed with the quality, features and image. One needs to keep in mind these are binoculars, not goggles. Standard magnification is 3x than they have additional Zoom beyond that. They are not designed for close up work or to use for walking around. They dobabgreat job for viewing wildlife at night which is what I bought them for or any distance viewing. As I said I am impressed and would not hesitate to buy them again. Decent picture though can see less than camera phone at night unless very close or assisted by more ir lights. Okay if you go record in environment where you want to not break phone. Youtube vids are misleading and prob more expensive products.

Cheap junk, waste of money, got these for our search and rescue and can not leave batteries in it they will be dead, when useing them batteries will last a few hours at most. Any other rescue crews I tell them stay away from these not worth the money. As for clarity there horrible also.

    • IR night vision is awesome with 7 levels of IR and a range of at least 50 yrds in total darkness.

Zoom feature is nice at a digital 2X. The finish is a nice rubberized material. The camera version takes a mini size SD card and I'm using a 32GB Transcend class10. Weight comes in at 1lb 15oz with 8 AA batteries installed and batteries are NOT included. The camera resolution is rather low with 100-300 kb per shot depending on light conditions. The rubber mask/shroud will not fit any face unless you have an extremely pancaked face. The focus adjustment is not very handy at night as your fingers will block the IR transmission when adjusting. I didn't expect much at all, given the price, but I'm really rather pleasantly surprised at all of it. I might like a higher zoom, and to not use so many batteries, but again, for the price, it's a thing of beauty.
