I bought one of these to see if the quality and comfort was good. I was pleasantly surprised. I'm 5'11" and it is very comfortable, reminds me very much of the chairs I sat in at various lodges in the Adirondaks as a kid. My wife is shorter (4'11") and it's "Not bad" for her, her feet don't touch the ground though, so I ordered the matching ottoman for her's. Assembly was simple and the quality of construction is great. The material also feels similar to wood. I'm hoping these hold up to the sun as well as they are supposed to. My only recommendation to the manufacturer would be to continue the block of material that is on the front underside of the arms all the way to the back of the chair. The way it is is fine but it flexes a bit when putting weight on it. Not to the point where I'd fear it would break but stronger is better, especially when the arm is such an inviting place for someone to come sit. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. We bought two of this brand four years ago. We liked them and thought we would add a couple more. To get a match we chose the same brand and so far as we could tell the same chair (we followed the ‘buybagain’ link from our last purchase and thought we had changed just the color; we didn’t notice any different size options). I’m sure if we had compared the size dimensions (if we could have found the old ones) that the correct size was disclosed, but just like when you buy the medium sized box of cereal one tends not too notice that the dimensions are shrinking. Once we assembled it we realized that the size had shrunk fairly substantially. It’s one thing for manufacturers to quietly raise prices and save on materials cost by shrinking the size of a box of crackers or package of cereal. It’s quite another when your chairs don’t match because the manufacturer seems to have wanted to reduce materials cost a bit. That said, they were and are good quality chairs. We like the poly wood and the thoughtful details such as the rounded edges. They are pretty easy to assemble. The size shrink has me wondering, though, whether they have also started cutting corners on things like the level of stainless steel in the fasteners. The current size is a bit small for me at a bit under six feet but my 5’2” wife likes having chairs just her size. Given the undisclosed shrinking size I’m not sure if we will go with this US made brand next time or go with one of the substantially cheaper imported options. ... show more

The back of the chair is flat which puts pressure on my spine and makes the chair very uncomfortable. Also, the seat is at such a steep angle that it creates even more pressure on my back. I don't have any existing issues with my back, it's just uncomfortable. I would compare it to sleeping on the floor. Had I known that other companies offer a curved back and also a choice of seat angles, I would not have purchased this chair. Good quality, poor design. ... show more
