The GloWear 8384 Type R Class 3 Hi-Vis Winter Jacket Quilted Parka is the ideal warm winter work jacket for safety on the job. This Type R high visibility jacket has an insulated interior with fleece for warmth in frigid conditions. This winter workwear features 160g thermal insulation plus fleece, which traps body heat to keep you warmer in the cold. The 300D oxford polyester outer shell with PU coating resists water and wind, for dry comfort all day. The black panels hide dirt and wear. Cuffs feature hook and loop straps to seal out the cold. POCKETS & ACCESSORIES Features external front pockets with snap flaps, chest pocket with ID holder, dual-slot pen pocket on arm, and dual-mic tabs for clipping radios. COMPLIANT TO ANSI/ISEA 107-2020 This reflective coat is a Class 3 garment and features 2" reflective stripes that are ANSI/ISEA 107-2020-compliant for nighttime visibility. There's reviews here for the wrong product that's being offered. Confusing. But I'll leave a legit review for this actual coat. This coat is AMAZING. I bought this because I'm a garbage man and needed something warm and visible during dark nights. It DOES NOT disappoint, trust me. This thing will have you sweating in no time. It keeps you toasty. It's also big enough to layer underneath for frigid temperatures. I've worn this when it was 15°F outside during my shift. I had a T shirt and a hoodie on underneath this coat and I was warm all night. Mind you, I ride on back of a garbage truck from house to house picking up bags all night. Not only will this keep you warm but its waterproof and windproof. I don't say that lightly either. I'm the first guy to leave bad reviews to products that just don't cut it but the only cons would be nitpicking and I'll share those thoughts shortly. This coat has a strong zipper that zips clean up to your nose. It also has strong snap buttons for extra wind and protection from the elements. Each sleeve has a Velcro hook and loop strap on the wrists to lock in over your gloves while also keeping the elements out. There's 2 independent cinch cords inside the coat near the front bottom to close tight to again keep the elements at bay. There's also a wind proof and waterproof hood with draw strings that rolls up and stores inside the collar via velco as well. A nice touch. The hood is not insulated but I totally agree with it not being insulated. It's thin and will block wind, rain, snow, sleet, freezing rain, hail, and anything else. Which is perfect because when it's that cold out, your inner layers should be the main insulated and heat trapping layers. So if you have a hoodie on underneath with an insulated hood, you pop that on then pop the coat's wind and waterproof hood on right over it. And again, it's built for this exact layering. It has a zip pocket and button pocket inside, with 2 double button pockets on the outside. I cannot say a single bad thing about this coat. I don't know how they're selling it for so cheap but this thing is absolute quality. I especially love how they've made it extra long so it covers the jewels and the behind to keep everything warm and block the wind. I'm a big guy also. 6'4" pushing 325lbs and a 4x fits me perfectly. Now, it is a little bit on the big side but I love that about it because layering is essential when the temperature drops to the single digits and negatives. I can nitpick a couple things. It traps EVERYTHING. So if you Sweat profusely like I do, your layers closest to your skin will be soaked in no time. But, you still stay warm. Being wet on the inside definitely sucks but you will not get cold inside. Even being damp or wet from sweat stays warm. If you work with the zipper halfway zipped, it allows enough air in that you won't Sweat much anyway. This is exactly what I do unless it's in the single digit temps. Then you have to keep zipped and bundled up. Plain and simple, this coat is absolutely amazing. For $50 I didn't think there was a chance of getting top notch quality but boy was I wrong. This thing looks like and feels like it will be warm this winter, and the high viz material and reflective strips are great. I got this at an even better price as one that had been tried on and returned, but would have paid the fifty seven bucks for it. True to size, fast shipping.

FIT: I'm 6ft tall, 180lbs of unfit dad bod. I usually wear a medium, but the measurements of the product indicates I should get a small. Small fits snug with out much room for layers, but will get the job done. This product seems to be true to size given its purpose, A medium is the size I should have ordered and would have been large on me but is probably intended to be larger to accommodate layers. So buy your normal fit and expect extra room on purpose. WASHABILITY AND DURABILITY: This product looks like it will do what is says on the tin, keep me warm and dry probably down to 35⁰ in a light misting rain. However I don't expect this to survive more than 1 wash. Stich is single stitch and sloppy. Ripped 2 stitches out just by manhandling the jacket in a normal fashion. I think it will last a single winter and probably be in the trash by spring. FINAL THOUGHTS: Don't over think the size by trying to go bigger for room, or smaller because it runs big. Just buy your normal size. You pay disposable work wear price and get disposable work wear quality. Overall I am happy with the purchase. But perhaps a better backup product to keep in the truck, as this is not a reliable daily wear for us wet winter workers. ... show more

I will update once my husband tests this in rainy weather, but for snowy cold he is really pleased with it so far. He is a freight conductor and sometimes has to ride the outside of rail cars for miles. He usually wears thermals, fleece lined jeans, a flannel shirt, a heavyweight hoodie and then a reflective jacket or vest for safety. With this coat and the matching bib overalls, he doesn’t need his thermals, lined jeans, or hoodie, just his flannel shirt and regular jeans. He says he’s perfectly warm. That makes it so much better when he is on the engine and the Engineer is blasting the heater. The reflective properties and bright green are perfect for his safety, the quilted lining is warm and soft, it has pockets for all kinds of things, and the legs zippers and snaps are awesome for pulling them over work boots. The cost is great also, so even if he wears them out and needs 2 a year, they will be worth it. Overall very pleased-hoping it does well when he gets soaked this week! ... show more

I work at a gas station and my employer requires us to wear a high visibility coat or vest. During the cold and wet periods so far this winter, this coat has performed beyond my expectations. It is completely waterproof and very warm. I would buy this again with no hesitation. Very good value! The coat does run a bit on the large size. However, this gives me plenty of room to layer up beneath it when required. If a size Large (for example) normally runs a bit roomy for you, you might consider going down a size. ... show more
