The GloWear 8384 Type R Class 3 Hi-Vis Winter Jacket Quilted Parka is the ideal warm winter work jacket for safety on the job. This Type R high visibility jacket has an insulated interior with fleece for warmth in frigid conditions. This winter workwear features 160g thermal insulation plus fleece, which traps body heat to keep you warmer in the cold. The 300D oxford polyester outer shell with PU coating resists water and wind, for dry comfort all day. The black panels hide dirt and wear. Cuffs feature hook and loop straps to seal out the cold. POCKETS & ACCESSORIES Features external front pockets with snap flaps, combination cell phone chest pocket, dual-slot pen pocket on arm, and dual-mic tabs for clipping radios. ANSI-COMPLIANT This reflective coat is a Class 3 garment and features 2 ANSI-compliant reflective stripes for nighttime visibility. There's reviews here for the wrong product that's being offered. Confusing. But I'll leave a legit review for this actual coat. This coat is AMAZING. I bought this because I'm a garbage man and needed something warm and visible during dark nights. It DOES NOT disappoint, trust me. This thing will have you sweating in no time. It keeps you toasty. It's also big enough to layer underneath for frigid temperatures. I've worn this when it was 15°F outside during my shift. I had a T shirt and a hoodie on underneath this coat and I was warm all night. Mind you, I ride on back of a garbage truck from house to house picking up bags all night. Not only will this keep you warm but its waterproof and windproof. I don't say that lightly either. I'm the first guy to leave bad reviews to products that just don't cut it but the only cons would be nitpicking and I'll share those thoughts shortly. This coat has a strong zipper that zips clean up to your nose. It also has strong snap buttons for extra wind and protection from the elements. Each sleeve has a Velcro hook and loop strap on the wrists to lock in over your gloves while also keeping the elements out. There's 2 independent cinch cords inside the coat near the front bottom to close tight to again keep the elements at bay. There's also a wind proof and waterproof hood with draw strings that rolls up and stores inside the collar via velco as well. A nice touch. The hood is not insulated but I totally agree with it not being insulated. It's thin and will block wind, rain, snow, sleet, freezing rain, hail, and anything else. Which is perfect because when it's that cold out, your inner layers should be the main insulated and heat trapping layers. So if you have a hoodie on underneath with an insulated hood, you pop that on then pop the coat's wind and waterproof hood on right over it. And again, it's built for this exact layering. It has a zip pocket and button pocket inside, with 2 double button pockets on the outside. I cannot say a single bad thing about this coat. I don't know how they're selling it for so cheap but this thing is absolute quality. I especially love how they've made it extra long so it covers the jewels and the behind to keep everything warm and block the wind. I'm a big guy also. 6'4" pushing 325lbs and a 4x fits me perfectly. Now, it is a little bit on the big side but I love that about it because layering is essential when the temperature drops to the single digits and negatives. I can nitpick a couple things. It traps EVERYTHING. So if you Sweat profusely like I do, your layers closest to your skin will be soaked in no time. But, you still stay warm. Being wet on the inside definitely sucks but you will not get cold inside. Even being damp or wet from sweat stays warm. If you work with the zipper halfway zipped, it allows enough air in that you won't Sweat much anyway. This is exactly what I do unless it's in the single digit temps. Then you have to keep zipped and bundled up. Plain and simple, this coat is absolutely amazing. For $50 I didn't think there was a chance of getting top notch quality but boy was I wrong. Don't hesitate to purchase. You won't regret it. Good day

It is a good coat for me I don't have to do much in the rain when I'm in it so its perfect. If have to be working a good bit it would probably be to bulky but its warm and fits great I'm 6ft 3 inches and 275 and i was comfortable. I live in Atlanta where it rains in the winter and it held up pretty well this past winter so will be my go to coat this upcoming winter as well.

I work at a gas station and my employer requires us to wear a high visibility coat or vest. During the cold and wet periods so far this winter, this coat has performed beyond my expectations. It is completely waterproof and very warm. I would buy this again with no hesitation. Very good value! The coat does run a bit on the large size. However, this gives me plenty of room to layer up beneath it when required. If a size Large (for example) normally runs a bit roomy for you, you might consider going down a size.

We bought this coat for my husband who works outside at the airport. He needs a waterproof warm coat that will block the wind. This coat really fits the bill. He also likes the longer length without elastic in the bottom which keeps it from riding up while he works. It is bright yellow so he doesn’t have to wear an additional safety vest. It also has a bungie like drawstring in the waist for an adjustable fit. He really likes it and the price was great. The reason for only 4 stars was the quality. One of the pockets was sewn on backwards and one snap was not properly affixed. But still great function and value overall for the money.

I will update once my husband tests this in rainy weather, but for snowy cold he is really pleased with it so far. He is a freight conductor and sometimes has to ride the outside of rail cars for miles. He usually wears thermals, fleece lined jeans, a flannel shirt, a heavyweight hoodie and then a reflective jacket or vest for safety. With this coat and the matching bib overalls, he doesn’t need his thermals, lined jeans, or hoodie, just his flannel shirt and regular jeans. He says he’s perfectly warm. That makes it so much better when he is on the engine and the Engineer is blasting the heater. The reflective properties and bright green are perfect for his safety, the quilted lining is warm and soft, it has pockets for all kinds of things, and the legs zippers and snaps are awesome for pulling them over work boots. The cost is great also, so even if he wears them out and needs 2 a year, they will be worth it. Overall very pleased-hoping it does well when he gets soaked this week!

Being 6' 6" tall, 280 lbs., finding a jacket long enough with proper fit in the shoulders and not have sleeves that are too short is a bigger challenge than you might imagine. Because I wanted this for winter and knew I would be wearing sweatshirts or hoodies underneath it, I first went with a 3XL. These jackets fit so well that the 3XL was too big for me and I ordered the 2XL. It fit perfect and has been out with me in a couple of snow storms. I was plenty warm and there is a little bit of length to it that other coats I've tried don't have. I haven't needed the additional sweatshirt underneath it to stay warm. It is plenty bright enough to wear while working at night and I have nothing but good to say about this coat. I am really happy with this coat and will buy a second one to put on the shelf for when I wear this out.

This was purchased as a gift for my nephew whom is blind. He loves to take his dog for walks and since we live in the country there are no sidewalks so you have to walk along edge of the road. My fear was that an on coming car wouldn't see him till right up on him and he or his dog would get hit and be injured or worse. We had him open the package as soon as it came. He loves it. He loves how light weight it is and how warm its going to be. Plus he was so impressed with all the pockets! He is now visible day or night when out walking. He was needing a warm coat anyhow so this should keep him warm and dry plus safer! Win Win!
