Description

This waterproof digital ultrasonic collar operates all High Tech Pet Power Pet electronic pet doors as well as Sound Barrier and Yard Barrier sonic fences. Using all digital circuitry, this state of the art design provides a stronger signal and maintains better accuracy over all temperature ranges. It includes a specially designed B3V1A battery which lasts about 3 months and prevents damage to the circuitry if the battery is accidentally installed incorrectly. With a fully enclosed ultrasonic speaker, the MS-5 is waterproof and rugged. It's perfect for the pet who likes to do some serious "ruff housing". The MS-5 is fully immiscible and will continue to work when wet. It will stand up to heavy rain showers and is perfect for dogs who love to play in the snow. The enclosed transducer (speaker) is much more robust than conventional open air transducers and will stand up to far more abuse from your pet. Small and lightweight, one size fits all dogs and cats. Comes with an attractive and tough 27 inch nylon strap.

My collars don't last more than 6 months. The collar doesn't get wet because we live in a dry climate. They should last longer for the amount of money I had to pay. In the past the collars lasted much longer.

I have bought these electronic pet door upgraded transmitters for my pet door. They last for months with a battery, are waterproof and warn you when the battery is low. I have bought extras for visiting dogs as well. Highly recommend.

Update. I have upgraded the stars for phenomenal customer service I received after I wrote the original review. I received a replacement collar and extra batteries. The second collar works as described and I have had no problems. You can't keep my dog out of the water and the collar is a little difficult to take on and off. The first time my dog went swimming, the MS-5 stopped working for 24 hours. It has been working since that failure, but I'm certainly not going to let me pup back in the water with it on. On the upside, my dog loves being able let herself in or out of the house on her own. Sometimes she seems to walk up to the dog door just for the entertainment of opening it herself. Heads up: The fastening system is two tiny d-rings that you pass the nylon strap back on itself through. This thing requires serious dexterity to buckle and unbuckle. The transmitter requires proprietary, expensive batteries. The company states that using batteries other than the ones they sell can damage the unit. I need to research if this is really true. I contacted the company via e-mail with my experience. They were quick to respond, apologized, and the rep said thye would pass along my feedback to their design team. They also stated they would send a replacement. I sent my mailing address in my reply but after 14 days, I have not gotten a replacement.     • Worth the buy!
We have 3 dogs that have these collars and they've been wearing them for 2/12+ years now. Two of our does play kinda rough and so far, the collars are holding up great. We change the batteries about 2-4 months (we buy generic batteries, and they work fine). They seem expensive but they are well made and worth it. ... show more

    • Stops working after only a couple months
Im officially very dissatisfied with these collars I have been through 16 of these collars sensors and they last less each time with this last round being bought on feb 25th it’s now April 28th and two out of the three animals I have they’re collars died. I have had this door for about two years now and it is frustrating because in order to fix this I have to purchase a different door and I paid almost 600 for this door so I don’t really want to do that nor can I afford to, so I’m stuck buying sensor after sensor. I would not recommend buying the door that pairs with this collar ... show more

    • Great product but beware of water.
I struggle with this product. The automatic dog door came with a home we purchased. We loved the auto doors with the collar. It worked well. However, we have a pool in the back and our dog LOVES the water. Almost any time he gets in (we have now fenced in the pool) with the collar it stops working. But we want the door, so we are on our 5th collar. Does it work well, yes, but beware, pools will destroy the collar and we are almost to the point where we have spent as much on replacement collars as we have on the automatic dog door. ... show more
