I purchased and returned three different players in a week. Each one had their own issues. So I decided to spend more and purchase the AP80 player. Definitely was a better choice. Came package very well with cables, instructions, vinyl case, and two screen protectors. The GOOD STUFF: 1. The sound is very very good. Equalizer: you have eight setting plus customs setting using the equalizer. 2. MSEB Setting: you have ten setting to fine tune your liking. You can use it with or with out the equalizer. Again to your liking. Nice feature. 3. Bluetooth mode: When using the Bluetooth mode I use my Sound Blaster I ROAR speaker and my Skullcandy Hesh-2 headphones. 4. This part was IMPORTANT to me: When playing in Bluetooth mode the EQUALIZER and the MSEB setting plays through your devise. Reminder, I returned three other players and they did not have that feature. They need to work on their firmware and software . Thumbs up!! to HIDIZS... 5. UI: I have no problems. Easy to get around, you have a touch screen and you can side up or side to side on the screen to get around. 6. Here is an other IMPORTANT feather I like with the AP80 that the other three players I return did not have. When you use the Bluetooth mode the AP80 , it displays the albums Art Work. Others players I return did not. This is me,, but I like to see the album picture when am playing a track in Bluetooth mode. By the way the album art work shows in ( ALL, Albums and Artists interface ) plus when you go into the album area again the album displays to the left and the track title is to the right. 7. Don't be Discourage no internal memory..... Lets face it , average person that buy a 8,16, even a 32GB player still would go out and by a SD card for more storage. Not a problem. Well hope this review will help you decide what your looking for in a player. So far no problems,,, lets see how it hold up in a few months. At this time I Definitely Recommend this player. Works great! but one thing I don't like is the software, it list the songs A-Z instead of the way the artist wanted it to be. For instance if playing an album from top to bottom it could places the "Prelude" way down in the track listing, it's like reading the last chapter in a book first and then a chapter in the middle, and then the first chapter. Otherwice it's a great affordable player that fits in any shirt pocket. ... show more

You can all the specs on this in the listing itself so I’m not wasting any space on that. I want to say it is amazing how much is packed into such a small unit. We’ve come a long way from the portable Walkman tape player or cd - so much so it boggles the mind. Qualify of this unit is great. Sound more importantly is top notch as expect and tweakability of the sound is also possible in ways far exceeding mere EQ of which it also has. The ways I refer to related to musical characteristics such as bass and sibilance for both high and low - emphasis or bringing vocals forward or pushing them down. Crispness of sound. These characteristics are easier to understand in terms of the ambience you want to create. Also these characteristics may change from headset to headset. So saving these profiles for easy retrieval is a great feature to have. I believe this unit represents several years of improvement in terms of specs and is a good place to be for the next couple of years. Also the features it has in terms of variation of decoding capabilities is very wide and good to see. The size of it is Both good and bad thing in that it is convenient and small but verging or fiddly. Components are well integrated and functional and other the unit fairly intuitive to manage. I was looking for a 2nd DAP that was a bit more compact than my Onkyo DP-X1 unit and found the Hidizs AP80 PRO-X. I'm very happy with the size, build, and sound of this player. The ease of use is very good and I do like the ability to have my iPhone control this little guy with the HiByMusic app. I loaded a new 256 GB SDXC card right away and was quickly able to load up my 10 new Woodstock CD's along with various hi-res Albums. The USB from PC to AP80 worked well too for copying tracks and the Bluetooth function worked fine, once I found the proper setting. I also invested in a pair of new IEM from FiiO, their FD3 PRO model as both my Onkyo and the new AP80 PRO-X have the 2.5 mm balanced jack input. This was my first experience beyond good headphones and various portable speakers, so am very happy with the quality of sound. Overall, I highly recommend this unit and will be buying at least one more for a friend! ... show more

Sounds good with wired ear buds, but Bluetooth is terrible. I can't get it to connect to anything. The instructions are as bad as the Bluetooth.

    • There is no warranty on this product....and it is terrible.
Bought this last feb. Spent 2 months being driven crazy by the poor touch screen and indecipherable program logic, after which my screen suddenly turned grey. Predictably, Hidizs invited me to "reset" the unit which made no difference. I was then asked to submit photos of my "problem", after which I was told to send the unit to China. I mailed it in September ($15)...In January, the unit came back - while it was in transit, documentation requirements had changed. Fortunately USPS didn't charge me to resend it. The next communication from Hidizs asks me to pay $20 by paypal to cover "duty".... Hidizs then tells me that the "board is broken" (no, really!) and I will need to pay $80 to repair it. This is a rather novel approach to warranty obligation. Apparently Hidizs believes that their poor quality control is not a problem - it's an opportunity. It is clear by now that Hidizs plans to charge me the $80, after which I will be told that it will require another $35 to get it back to me... If anyone has kept track, that would add up to $150 for "warranty repairs" on a unit for which I have already paid $150. Better yet, they provided me a record of their ineptitude - a very revealing e-mail chain that I would be very happy to share with anyone requesting it. ... show more
