    • Instructions/Assembly video meh, bike great, problems with brake
1. My first e-bike, although far from my first bike. There was more assembly of the e-bike than I expected, but none of it difficult and it took overall slightly more than an hour. It was fully charged upon assembly. Charging is simplicity itself. The bike reminds me quite a bit of a motorcycle, actually, with turn signals and hydraulic braking. Power is applied with the pedal assist or with the right thumb, which I actually find quite natural even though I spent years riding motorcycles with twist grip throttles. 2. The instruction manual is poorly written in broken English with nearly useless pictures. The assembly video references parts that aren't supplied with the standard bike, which is confusing, and is not nearly detailed enough. The company should have somebody totally unfamiliar with the bike (and not a bike mechanic) try to follow the manual or video, and they will quickly see the problems. 3. Once assembled and adjusted, the bike is amazing. It's lighter than many e-bikes but far heavier than a traditional English style or racing bike. It's sturdy and the back carrier is quite solid. It took me about ten minutes in the driveway to get used to the power assist functions. 4. The bike has sturdy tires and a really excellent derailleur system which integrates nicely with the power assist features. 5. Battery life is more than sufficient for me to run errands around town. If you have a long commute, or want to cross country overnight, you might want a larger battery. All in all, I'm favorably impressed and would highly recommend. Update: On a short ride three days after purchasing the bike, I noticed the front brake getting spongy. I took it to a Trek bike store, and the caliper was leaking hydraulic fluid and the bike mechanic couldn't get it to seal properly, requiring replacement. The brake pads were obviously ruined by this, and the mechanic recommended replacing the brake rotor as well. I sent an email to HeyBike support, but haven't seen an answer yet. I'll update this review after hearing from them. Update 2: HeyBike responded quickly to my telephone call regarding this issue and immediately refunded the cost of repair, and said that a replacement brake caliper (with pads) and rotor were on the way. Great service so far! Update 3: HeyBike parts arrived in 4 days (over a weekend). Dealing with the service department at HeyBike was a pleasant experience. The brake parts arrived with a front basket, which took me by surprise, but is much appreciated. Turns out that the replacement rotor was for a rear (smaller), but rotors are expendables on motorcycles and e-bikes, so I just bought a heavier duty and correctly sized rotor from Trek. The bike will be ready tomorrow! Update 4: Front brake and rotor replaced. I'm happy with the heavier rotor in front--the upgrade just came a little earlier than expected. The bike is a joy to ride and long hills are less intimidating than with non-powered bikes. The lights and everything else work smoothly. The double lever shifters will take a bit of getting used to, but the gearing and 500 watt motor work together seamlessly. So far so good! ... show more

Hi if you’re looking for an E-bike that delivers the HEYBIKE Ranger S is your Ride. My HEYBIKE Ranger S in Sand color with Olive Green Saddle Bags is a head turner. Purchased on Prime Day was a great EBike value. I put my HEYBIKE together by myself self without any issues, all tools needed are included, instructions were easy to use, and my HEYBIKE was neatly packed and had no damage. Charged the battery while I was assembling, so we were ready to go when assemble was completed. Ready for my first exciting ride, didn’t get far when my neighbor had to see my new E-Bike. He fell in love with my HEYBIKE too. He loved the military look with the fat tires and rugged frame. He couldn’t believe that my HEYBIKE was foldable and could fit in the trunk of a car. With a full charge I can go about 55 miles using Pedal Assist mode and top speed is 28 miles per hour. The information “computer” is very useful and visible in full sun and evening light, includes battery capacity, speed, gear, and more. HEYBIKE has tremendous stopping with hydraulic brakes both tires. HEYBIKE includes front and rear fenders with headlight, taillight, and turn signals. This is one of a very few EBikes that you can sync up with your phone. A few of those features include the ability to set up my HEYBIKE to my preferences and to lock up my HEYBIKE Ranger S. I’m really impressed with the speed and handling of my HEYBIKE. My HEYBIKE has great fit and finish. My EBike turns heads whether we’re on a trail or pavement. It’s really COOL! I love my bikes: Pros: Bike is very well made. Excellent finish, superb welds, attachments are sold and easy to use. Very comfortable ride on pavement at the campground. Easy to mount. Excellent lighting and great looks. Everyone wants to ride it. I got about 40 miles out of the charged battery with some peddling to assist it. Bike is very quick and top speed of 38 mph Cons: Bike is heavy (well built) Seat could be just a bit wider maybe. Im not a heavy person or big butt..still could be a little bigger seat. Not terribly easy to fold or load on the bike rack. Its a bit cumbersome. Not a small bike..mid-sized Overall I'm extremely pleased with my purchase. Absolutely would buy again. ... show more
