We live right on a path that goes all around our town in AZ. We have only had these a couple weeks and have had so many adventures already. We added a kid seat to each bike with handle bars and foot pegs so the kids come with us. So fun, very easy to ride. And they look sweet!

    • Overly Aggressive Acceleration – No Resolution Yet from Heybike after 3 months

I purchased two of these bikes at the same time, and while one works beautifully, the other has a serious issue: the acceleration is far too aggressive, even when pedal assist is set to level 0. It makes for a jerky and unsettling start—especially disappointing in a brand-new bike that should perform properly out of the box. I reached out to Heybike support and was advised to modify my riding technique (e.g., press the pedal more gently or start in pedal assist 0). While I appreciate the suggestion, this feels more like a band-aid than a fix. Since only one of the bikes has this problem, I know it’s not a feature—it’s a fault. I’ve requested clarity on whether there’s a firmware update or technical adjustment available, or if the unit can be repaired or replaced under warranty. So far, I haven’t received a resolution. I’m hoping Heybike steps up and takes this issue seriously. Until then, I’d advise potential buyers to be aware that quality control can be inconsistent—and customer support may be slow to respond. [UPDATE on 8/21/2025] It’s now been over four months since I placed my order (April 17, 2025), and more than three months since I first contacted Heybike support (May 6)—well within their return window, which closed on May 22. Despite this, they’ve refused to accept a return or offer a refund. Instead, I’ve been dragged through an exhausting and deeply frustrating process. Every troubleshooting step was left to me: replacing the throttle, controller, and sensor—all shipped one at a time, each taking days or weeks to arrive. I had to install and test each part myself, with no offer to cover professional repair costs. And after all that, the bike still has the same dangerous acceleration issue. Their latest demand? That I ride the defective bike one-handed while filming the problem. When I explained that this was unsafe, they FINALLY told me to take it to a technician, but not to fix it, instead, to have them record the video! All this effort, just to avoid honoring a return for a clearly defective product. I’ve lost an entire summer trying to fix a bike that should have worked out of the box. My family and I missed out on the rides we planned, and I’ve spent countless hours dealing with evasive support and ineffective solutions. Heybike’s quality control is unreliable, and their post-sales support is among the worst I’ve experienced. One bike works and one does not. Assist toggle and the display does not work. Hopefully support will be able to help. Otherwise the bikes are decent. Disappointed with this issue.

Our bikes were delivered very quickly. The standard specs are top notch and the seller is extremely professional. Had a small issue with a damaged part and they immediately responded and sent a replacement. We feel so much better knowing we purchased from a reputable company.
