I bought this for my son-in-law's birthday after getting him a different HexClad knife for Christmas that he loved. He is the cook in the family and appreciates great tools, so HexClad was an easy choice. He says this has become his go-to knife. It is super sharp and he finds it easy to maintain that edge with his sharpening hone. He hand washes all of his knives to keep them in top shape, and he is already eyeing a knife roll to protect them. I wish I could have gotten him the whole set, but the cost makes that a slow build. I will be adding another knife at Christmas and again on his next birthday until he has a full collection. I was a little skeptical about a celebrity chef endorsed knife but I have to say this one is awesome. Holds an edge, well balanced, and comfortable to use. I’d call myself a pretty good home chef and have used Henkel, Wustof and other good brands of knives and this one is certainly worth the money.
