The Hestia no drill roller shade is a breeze to install. The model I ordered is 48 in long and does require support brackets that entails drilling holes. I presume the smaller lengths would not require support brackets. Mounted correctly, this is a true blackout shade. The roller mechanism is smooth and does not necessitate having to pull it multiple times to retract. It does appear to be pretty insulated and is well made. The materials are a heavier weight without creating a heavy shade. Unfortunately, although my window is 48 in, this was a tad too large for correct mounting on the interior of the window frame. I may have read the sizing instructions incorrectly. Be sure to read and reread the sizing instructions so you are not disappointed. As the adage goes, measure twice, cut once.

I'm always a huge fan of Hestia shades. Sometimes I don't actually get to use them for their no drill function but I was with this one! It was very easy to put up, they do roll up and down with ease and do stay where they are stopped at. It looks very high quality and I do appreciate a solid shade rather than slots because I feel like I get far better privacy that way. I would say that Hestia brand is worth the price every time. I've gotten a couple of their items before and each time I found no problems with any of the shades I've received before. It does block light pretty well although it does have light that peaks around the edges. Also the fit was very tight which I think is intentional so it doesn't go anywhere. Very good product.

I'm not sure if the listing was misworded, but these are the furthest thing from Blackout or light blocking shades. Light filtering would be more appropriate. That aside, it's a thicker insulated shade and in this area it performs as expected. Overall the shade works easily in either direction and was very simple to install as an outside mount. The sides stay flat with no curling and the overall appearance is trim. The fabric texture is natural looking and gives a classic linen look. This is a nice quality roller shade, but just won't cut it if you need true blackout conditions.

I purchased curtains for all the windows that get a lot of afternoon heat. I didn't want regular curtains over the kitchen sink, since they usually get dirty when they hang down over it. This was a great find to keep the sun out and also look very pretty. This way, the window is completely open when we want it to be and can be closed when the sun hits. It was very easy to install using the included directions. Please be sure to measure from the top of the window opening where the shade will sit. I measured lower where the opening was a tad bit smaller. This is very important because the shade fits by pressure. I was able to fix this, though. I measured a square of wood to make up the difference and put it on the side without the adjustment part. This worked perfectly!

Pros I like: • Extremely easy to install • Does a great job blocking out light • Clever spring-tension design that holds securely without any hardware or drilling • Works very well once installed Cons/Notes: • Some light still leaks around the edges (common with most blinds) Very easy to install this blind and it does a phenomenal job blocking out light. Of course some light still comes through around the edges, but I have yet to find a blind that completely eliminates that. The way these secure is really smart — it has a pole with spring tension inside of it that applies pressure to both sides, holding it firmly inside the window frame. Brilliant design that works extremely well. The fabric seems durable and blocks cold/heat. Seems durable and will likely last a long time.

Everything worked fine with this shade. It was easy to install with the no-drill setup and feels secure once in place. The cordless design is simple to use and looks clean. The blackout material does a good job blocking light and adds some privacy. Fit as expected for the listed size. Overall, does what it’s supposed to and is a good deal for the price.

These window shades look so nice, I love the fabric decor even though it’s only fabric like that on one side. The blinds fold up and down easily. They block light extremely well. It is tricky getting them smushed in between the window frame though. Also note that I did measure my window frame but the item ended up being slightly larger than I expected it to be width wise
