I have long, fine, straight naturally grey hair so finding a hair serum that doesn't weigh down my hair or make it look greasy is a challenge. I usually use Ouai hair oil but I was looking for a more affordable option. I washed my hair with Ouai Detox Shampoo, applied Ouai hair mask for moisture and then applied this serum prior to blow drying with my Revlon One Step Volumizing Brush. My hair came out silky, shiny and voluminous! I use dry shampoo to add more volume after blow drying and usually by day 2 my hair is back to flat but after using this serum, all I did was brush out my hair in the morning and it looks freshly styled, not flat or dull. I applied a tiny drop of serum to my ends but it really wasn't even necessary. This serum also smells amazing and not at all overpowering. I would describe it as almost like a baby powder scent but in a grown up sort of way, if that makes any sense. It's hard to describe a scent but I will accept or reject a product based on scent alone and this scent is just awesome. I wouldn't say people are going to stop you on the street and ask to smell your hair but your significant other may notice and I personally cannot stop smelling my own hair. Lol. Also, the bottle is a good size and will last a long time. I am super happy I bought this serum and I would highly recommend it. One last point to mention is the packaging. This product was exactly what i was looking for, but BOY that smell! My hair is damaged from dying and using heat product on. I was looking for something i could use on my damp hair as well as using for straightening my hair. Works great for both. Now about the smell... It smells like old lady musty rose perfume. And for a small drop it is soo strong. First time i used it i thought i would never again because of that.... But after i used it to straigthen my hair i loved it. It leaves my hair so soft. I have long, processed hair. Thos product makes my hair very soft and manageable. There is no sticky or greasy residue, only touchable, beautiful hair! I have tried many, MANY products (very pricey ones too) and this one is the BEST for texture, softness, smell, manageability and price.

Well, darn. I was was really hoping this could replace my beloved but painfully expensive Kerastase elixir serum. Unfortunately, it can’t. I have straight, very fine, highlighted blonde hair with a few gray hairs here and there. I gave it 3 stars because it *did* make my hair silky and left it feeling soft after blow drying. But the smell is, to my nose, unpleasant and strong. I agree with others who say it has a cheap perfume scent. In contrast, Kerastase smells absolutely amazing and I look forward to using it. Also, after I dried my hair, I had a bunch of random shorter hairs sticking up on my crown (especially the more wiry gray hairs). I had to spend extra time using a bit of hairspray to get them to lie flat. That never happens with Kerastase. So, the search for an more affordable alternative continues. ... show more
