Ok for the money, made in China, shouldn't be claimed at 100% German steel blade. This is not what you think of when buying a henckel brand, but for the money it's definitely alright

    • Is it truly a HENCKELS knife?
This is the lightest cheapest knife I have ever seen. The price is the clincher here...people see the brand name and buy it based on reputation - which I agree on. But in this case, what you get is a cheap piece of steel that will keep an edge for about 1 hour of use. Plan on sharpening this knife very often. I am surprised such an icon of cutlery has used such cheap materials. A Price Point item for sure. It is way way too lightweight. French knives rely on balanced weight to cut properly with your hand comfortably holding the handle. This does not cut it - no pun intended. Spend twice the price and get something better. Very disappointing ... show more

Picked this up for a friend after finding that they only had off-brand cutco style garbage for knives in their new apartment. Great construction and weight. Slightly small if you have large hands but most people of normal proportions should have no issue with it. Not something I'd work the line with day in and out, but for a home cook this is a no brainer at the price. ... show more
