I've owned a set of Henkel knives for years now and find them to be a good brand for the home, holding their edge and reasonably easy to maintain. I liked the style of these knives which did not come with the original set purchased. The knives are rather lightweight but comfortable to handle and prefered for some preparations. The blade is narrow but does not bend in use allowing safe straight cuts. I was surprised however, the pair of knives purchased, were not very sharp in my eyes and required sharpening before use, thus the reason for the 4 stars. I like my knives razor sharp and use wet stones and leather strop or buffing wheel to keep them that way. This is a preference of mine in food preparation and I also hand wash, dry and store these knives horizontally in a wood block soon after use to protect them and prolong the edge. ... show more

We needed a few extra knives to round out our collection but these are now our favorites. Very light, cuts well, easy to handle and very comfortable to use. These would make a great gift!

When I worked in an industrial caffeteria long decades ago, they only bought henckels n one other brand well known brand. They sharpened well n kept their temper. These R the homeowners grade but they retain an edge sweet, tho only used 4-5 times a wk. They're kinda nearthe apex of value ( emphasis on value) chef blades. Would buy again, but can't C why I'd need 2. ... show more

The big knife isn't bad, the little knife is incredibly dull. Cheap knives don't sharpen well either. I've run cheap knives through sharpeners before and had the blades chip, so I'm not going to try it on this. That being said my wife is hell on knives so I don't care what she does with these, which was what I bought them for anyway ... show more

I love all my Henkels knives and these two complete my set. They are not the most expensive but who really wants to spend hundreds of dollars on the "perfect" knives only used by professionals. I take care of all my things and my knives are no different, these will last me many years and when I use them they will make me happy! ... show more

I purchased them to give em a shot because they are Henckels. I should have known better. You get what you pay for. I was not expecting a 100 dollar knife set but these are like Dollar Store knives. The smaller knife is sharp but the larger one had about 4 inches in the middle of the blade that was slightly sharper than a butter knife. The blades are extremely light and thin like a fillet knife.
