Great product. I’ve cooked professionally for years and these are the three knives I use most. My longtime set of knives were due to be sharpened, but because of Covid, had to be postponed. I bought this set to get me through until my grinder guy reopened. They work well. The blades are sharp and good quality. The handles are the reason the price is so low. They aren’t as heavy duty as a more expensive set, but they work just fine. For the cost, these knives are incredible. They're exactly the knives you'd want as someone beginning to build out an arsenal of kitchen supplies. They arrived incredibly sharp, and have held up well to daily use - often multiple times a day. I also love that these came with a knife sharpener, though I haven't had to use it yet. The only issue I've noted, as another reviewer also observed, is that the tips of the knives have bent slightly. I hand wash, so my theory is that it's happened over time by dropping them point-down into the metal canister I let my utensils dry in. Not a best practice, I know! With this in mind, I'd say it'd be best to hand dry them before carefully storing. Overall, a worthwhile purchase! ... show more

These knives stay sharp and the sharpener is awesome! I have had the same knives that I thought were nice for 5 years, but no matter how well I tried to keep them sharp, they never stayed that way and eventually I stumbled upon these knives and took the risk to save my fingers and biceps. The sharpener is easy to hold and way better than those stupid rod sharpeners that suck. I think this is a great starting out set of knives, perfect for a college kid, newlyweds who forgot to register for knives, and bachelors finally moving out of their mom’s house. after having the product for a year, I can add: The large knife and the serrated knife are the best items in this set. That is what you are paying for. The smaller knife I wouldn't use except for buttering bread. I’m a Previous Henckels owner and trust the quality. I am a little disappointed the paring knife’s tip is bent. Overall, these are great knives and the sharpener is a nice addition, though not how I usually sharpen knives. However, they came with a top edge that was ultra sharp - un - 'eased' or softened/rounded, so sharp that it could cut one's finger or at least cause coniderable pain. I bought these for a home aide to use, so I took the time and some wet sandpaper to work the sharp off. Now they are okay, but one expects only to sharpen the cutting edge of a new knife (which were fine by the way) not dull the back edge. ... show more

I can’t speak for the blade or handle qualities yet, but I can tell you that the cook’s knife of the kit has a sharp spine, which can be dangerous - in my opinion. Extremely sharp! You can easily lose a finger if not careful. Cuts through meat, fruit, vegetables like butter. Very ergonomic and made to last as exhibited by the triple handle rivets. Unlike other knives that are with glue. Love the variety in the set and the included sharpener which I have not used yet. Things I don’t like are the blades are a little flimsy bending fairly well easy. Also sheaths are not included to protect the blades. Otherwise best knives I have ever used. ... show more
