After just 4 months with our old knife set still being used with it, both paring knives are chipped, and one larger knife has spots on the handle. Our old set has traditional straight-backed, squared off handles, but these bulge in the middle and curve at the end. Fine for me but my wife and kids hands have a harder time with them. The media could not be loaded. First, this is a gorgeous set and extremely sharp. Also very large and heavy. I’m super excited to use them. I recommend only hand washing! The only semi issue is that they don’t exactly sit tightly in the slots. So the knives aren’t lined up perfectly across, as shown on the box. There Is wiggle room. This won’t bother me but I can see it really bothering someone with OCD. Just something to keep in mind. I just got them so I will update my review if I have any other feedback. ... show more

The knife blades rust easily if left wet for too long. And we hand wash them all the time. Also, the graphite color on the handles is coming off. These knives are only nine months old.

These are really nice. The sharpest knives I've had in a long time and the self sharpening is a super nice feature. I'll admit these cut too well and went straight through the food into my hand. The only negative (s) I have: - One of the knives sits uneven with the rest and throws the aesthetic off a bit. - It's a bit crowded near the scissors. I'm a fan of these knives. Finally a good set of knives that might seem pricey at first, but are really affordable when you consider the brand name and their durability. These knives are going to last you a long time and you'll be so happy that you got them. Warning: They are VERY sharp! I just love using them for cooking. The set as a whole I enjoy. Ergonomic in the hand, we’ll balanced for the hand. And then I grab the steak knife. The serration is opposed by the flat of the blade that isn’t flat. The knife gets packed with shreds in the serrations and suddenly your bite of wagyu filet is covered in shreds. Kinda kills the effect you want when treating yourself to a prime steak. ... show more
