I would suggest you by one side higher than you would usually wear. It has a removable liner that and let you use the jacket in some of the warmer seasons also. Bought this for the Macy’s parade in NYC waiting on the street for 4 hours in “feels like 22°F” - felt light but very well made and not ounce of cold wind got through it. Fortunately it didn’t rain/snow so couldn’t vouch for waterproofing- though other Hellytech products I have are great with that. Lots of good pockets and the double layer hood was always toasty warm. Only thing I could find that was waterproof, well insulated and long enough to keep your legs warm. You could get the Goose at 4-5x price but this is an about perfect coat. I’m 5’11 180lbs and the L was great for me leaving room for a hoodie underneath. ... show more

I am very happy with this quality product and probably waited a few years for the price to go down to buy it. No regrets! I think it is quite warm even for late autumn (in the central EU). Fits well, no issues. Only two downsides (or improvements): 1) the outer pockets are not warm enough for me (not for cold weather) and 2) it is more suitable for the city than for outdoor activities (the material seemed a bit thin to me). This is a well made product that keeps me warm and dry on those cold rainy days. It’s a bit long in the arms for me (I’m stocky 5’ 8” with short arms) but the velcro arm holes allow the coat to be adjusted.
