This jacket is GREAT! It's almost January in Connecticut and I'm still wearing it, it's warm although soon I'll have to switch to something a bit warmer. But the water resistance is wonderful in the rain - the water beads up and rolls right off. The fact that there is a hood concealed in the collar is helpful too. This jacket is very well made and feels quality all around. I'm 5'8", about 170, and a lot of the reviews said these run small so I took their word for it and ordered a Large instead of my typical Medium. I'm glad I did - the Large fits PERFECT and the sides of the jacket appear to be somewhat tapered/fitted which makes it look very flattering in my opinion. I'm super happy with the fit. I've since ordered the HH Midlayer fleece lined version of this in the same size and unfortunately it fits and looks more boxy - probably due to the added weight and fleece inside. But as far as this particular jacket is concerned - I love it, it blocks the wind and rain and keeps my pretty warm even in cold temperatures! ... show more

Finally a rain and wind jacket for those of us who are on the slim side! I usually wear a small so I got a small and voila, perfection. I had the Mountain Hardwear Plasmic (small) and it engulfed me. I'm 5'10 - 155 lbs. the fit is great for me and enough to put a thin fleece under it. Arm length is a little past the wrist. The waist is a wee bit snug but that's just a small quibble. Solid looking jacket! Im gonna take it for a spin as a shell for skiing so we'll see how it holds up! Update: Took it out and used it as a shell for snow skiing. Temps were about 33 degrees or so, not too cold IMO. Had a base layer and a ultra light down jacket then the HH. I was thoroughly impressed on how it kept the wind out, breathed and kept me very comfortable. The high collar was nice as I would just zip it up and down when necessary. So far so good! We'll see how it holds up long term but for now, it's a great buy! ... show more

got to check it in rain right after it came in. Perfect size, well made jacket shell for wearing sweaters or heavy weight shirts. It kept me bone dry and comfortable. This is not a fancy 200 dollar outerware, it does the job at an affordable price, well made also.

I live in North Florida and this jacket is perfect for the cool "winter" weather (upper 40's - mid 60's) in this area. It is lightweight, but more than a single layer of plastic-type material thanks to the mesh inner lining. The hood folds into the collar, also lined with a heavier material, and the jacket has been waterproof through light showers. In addition, it is both comfortable and sharp looking/stylish, and I received several compliments from both men and women the first day that I wore it. I am 6'1" and 195lbs, which normally makes me a large in shirts and jackets. However, after reading the reviews here, I purposefully ordered one size up (XL) and it fits perfectly.     • Nice jacket-runs small
This is a nice jacket – I would buy it again. However, as other reviewers have noted, it runs on the small side. My last rain jacket was a medium but based on the reviews I ordered this in large which turned out to be a good decision. I wanted some extra room to allow me to wear a sweater or light fleece underneath and also a little extra length to fall slightly below the waist, The large size accomplishes that, yet the sleeves don’t seem to be too long. Even so, the jacket seems to still fit snuggly around the mid section. I’ve worn it a few times in light to moderate rain and it has kept me dry while the hood ties have kept the hood on in a stiff wind. The inside pocket is nice for storing my cell phone; the outside pockets are not as deep as those on my previous jacket but seem sufficient and have a nice soft lining that keeps your hands warm when needed. I haven’t worn it in warm weather yet but after a day wearing it while doing moderate paced walking in 50 degree temperatures it seemed to let the perspiration out sufficiently. The hood stows away nicely and without too much hassle when not in use. I wish it had a 2-way zipper to allow you to unzip it from the bottom when sitting down. The Velcro closures keeping the storm flap closed over the zipper are a nice touch and the velcro around the wrists allow you to get the type of fit that you want in that area. All in all, it seems to be a good purchase for a casual rain jacket that can be worn in a variety of situations. ... show more

    • Great waterproof jacket!
I bought this jacket to replace a Helly Hansen Vancouver jacket that had long since lost it's water resistance. This Dubliner is definitely a step up in both quality and styling. It's been pretty rainy where I live for the past few months and this jacket has been 100% waterproof and has kept me dry. I'm glad Helly Hansen decided to add an inside chest pocket as that's where I like to keep my phone. And I also like that the pockets are lined with a soft, fleecy material. The hood stores away in the collar when not needed which is also a plus over HH's lower-end jackets. However, like a lot of other people have mentioned, it runs small. It's fitted instead of loose and feels pretty narrow. I ordered one size larger than I normally wear so that I could layer underneath which turned out to be a good decision.
