Why does the box say flouride free and the product itself says flouride toothpaste? There is flouride in the ingredients! I only purchased this product because I was under the impression that it was flouride free. This company is misleading. One of many customers lost here.

Used twice per day (for at least two minutes each time) for a whole month, then using my usual Whitening Sensodyne right after. Absolutely NO change. My teeth are definitely clean from so much brushing, but they are not a lighter shade. I already knew that the Whitening Sensodyne didn't whiten, but now I know not to further waste my money on charcoal toothpaste to try to whiten my teeth. Leason learned. ... show more

I wish I had taken before/after photos. Augh! I spent MONTHS searching for the perfect charcoal whitening powder/gel/paste but I kept stumbling onto the ones that have thousands of reviews & all seem super fake & too expensive to take that kind of chance on. ... Finally, I figured I would just start small with something I could actually see myself using more than once (the messiness of some of the other kinds was also a little intimidating). So I decided to just get a toothpaste — this toothpaste — something natural & fairly basic. I had no idea this stuff would work so well! You guys. This stuff is legitimately amazing. I used it once & could immediately see a difference. A noticeable difference! My fiance could see a difference & he had been a skeptic! He even ended up using it on his own teeth! My tween step-daughter even ended up using it on HER teeth! (Thank goodness I got one gentle enough that she could without me feeling irresponsible.) I will say that most of my stains are from coffee & dark soda, which I drink regularly, so there’s that (not sure if the cause of the stains matter). I’m not a smoker (anymore) & I don’t drink very much wine, either. I’ve since used the toothpaste once daily (at night, I still use my regular toothpaste in the morning) on my generally sensitive teeth & have had no issues except that my teeth keep seeming to look a little bit brighter with each use. However, normal ordinary human white, mind you. Not that movie star, fake white. *If you’re looking for that unnatural so-white-it’s-almost-blue look, you may find yourself disappointed. Regardless, I would take using this toothpaste over ever bleaching my teeth again in a heartbeat! So pleased with the results .. my self-esteem has already taken a little hike 😄. Will absolutely be purchasing again provided my teeth don’t become too sensitive, which I have no reason to believe will happen at this point. I'm in love with this tooth paste! I like brushing with charcoal to whiten my teeth and this paste makes it so much easier and less messy. I don't know if I'm imagining it, but it seems like after using it just a couple times, my teeth already looked whiter. I also really like the taste - it's minty but not too minty. I was excited about this product but after using it for a few months (I also switched it up with my normal toothpaste to be careful) it was very damaging to my teeth. My enamel started breaking off and my teeth were not whitening they were losing their whiteness even more and my teeth became extremely sensitive from using. Then I found out how bad using charcoal is for your enamel so I just threw it away. I wouldn't recommend using any charcoal toothpaste. This did have a nice taste tho. ... show more

Charcoal is the new hot item in the world of toothpaste. Instead of tiny bits of sand, this paste uses microscopic grains of charcoal (made from sustainable bamboo) as an abrasive. There is something satisfying about using something as dirty as charcoal to clean ones teeth, and to use something so dark, to lighten the teeth. The taste is pleasant, but not as strong a mint flavor as I was expecting. It does taste rather like charcoal, though. There is also coconut oil in this toothpaste, which is thought to pull stains and toxins out of the teeth, but I'm not sure how scientific this claim is. This toothpaste does not contain fluoride, which is known to do wonders for teeth, and gave me some pause before I thought about it. If you use municipal water in your home, and live in the US, your water is probably treated with fluoride, and so you don't need extra in your toothpaste. Does it affect the efficacy of the toothpaste? I'm not sure, but it seems to work just fine, my teeth look and feel clean. The 4oz tube seems like it would be enough for about a month's use, brushing twice daily. The ingredients list contains some lengthy chemical names, but each one is explained in parenthesis, but some of these names are still scary. "Cocamidoproypl Betaine" for example is described as a "cleanser". So who knows? Also because it is charcoal based, it can make quite a mess when you spit it out. Just an FYI, you'll need to rinse the sink out after each use! Things this toothpaste is free from: *Artificial flavors and sweeteners *Dye *Fluoride *Sulfates *Microbeads *Parabens *Triclosan *Dairy *Gluten PROS: + Pleasant mint taste (not too strong) + Looks cool (BLACK toothpaste!) + Natural ingredients + Made in the USA + Tube is perfect for dispensing toothpaste, none is wasted stuck to the top!
