This is SUCH a well engineered, high quality product. Nearly ALL metal, the exterior is powder coated, and all the seams are flat and well-joined, and even the interior hose reel core is metal (when usually those are plastic). There are only two plastic components but BOTH are super heavy duty: the very end of the handle that you hold when you turn the hose (because even the handle shaft that ATTACHES to that handle is metal), and the interior crankshaft that helps to move the hose back and forth. The short coupling hose is high quality too, and this unit also comes with a basic (but still very usable) adjustable nozzle. The reel box comes with metal feet that are super easy to put on, to keep it up off the ground. The crankshaft mechanism works very smoothly - it turns the hose (we are using a 100' hose in this) very easily. This item should be able to withstand the elements and the winter months just fine. The color is a dark gray / black that goes with everything - this hose reel box has a very high end look for being something that is mostly seen as a utilitarian item. Overall, this is A VERY HIGH QUALITY PRODUCT (we bought 3 of them!) AND THEY WERE WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!

Without a doubt, this reel is of the highest quality I've ever seen. Unlike the several plastic hose reels I've owned, this solid metal unit is going to look good and last a long time. The. weight is there to make it easily stay in place while winding up the 100 ft. 5/8" hose I use. It's design is classic, plus it has a great color to blend in with it's surroundings if it's placed around grass or shrubs, whatever. Mine is next to my light yellow siding, but it looks so great I don't mind it standing out. Most importantly, it handles easily and works smoothly to make it easy to reel in the hose itself. And no more bending or breaking plastic to worry about. I highly recommend the BreezeReel and believe it's slightly higher price tag is well worth it. I'll add a picture to this review as soon as I get a chance.

This hose reel box is very solidly built. The hose winds in easily and pulls out freely with a moving guide like that on a fishing reel. It has enough weight so that when the hose it pulled, the box does not shift. It has a nice finish and is all metal construction. Would buy again.

Nicely made, and really solid. It even looks good! The hose connects with no leaks at all, and retracts the hose really smoothly. That all said, what I love most about this is the weight. It works flawlessly, which is great, but the weight keeps it in one place while I'm pulling the hose out. The plastic unit that I previously had would get dragged all over while I was trying to pull out the hose. This simply stays put. It makes using the hose much easier.

BREEZEREEL is a breeze, very few parts to put together and hooks up perfectly with garden hose and waterspout. Very sturdy and quickly rolls up 100 ft. garden hose. Also looks good!

This BreezeReel is solid. I was looking for something heavy-duty that wouldn't rust out or leak, and the aluminum water system inside makes a huge difference compared to the plastic ones. It arrived ahead of schedule and was packaged perfectly so there wasn't a scratch on the steel housing. The manual crank and hose guide work smooth, and that 200lb base stays planted so it doesn't move around when I'm pulling line. Shipping was fast, the seller was easy to deal with, and the quality is exactly what I expected. Definitely worth it if you want your yard looking clean and organized. Mahalo!

The hose deck box is great. Sturdy [heavy] and holds a minimum of 100' of hose. I would have given 5 stars- here's why I downgraded it a bit- the hose connection for the inlet to the hose reel is also female... so a regular garden hose cannot feed the reel without an adapter. However, the hose reel box came with a short double female connection hose which should meet the needs of many. But, the included supply hose blew off one coupling on day 2 of use. Not that big of a deal, I can fix it with a hose clamp.... but a bit disappointed that it self-destructed on day 2. Don't let that distract you from purchasing this otherwise great product.

Very good reel! Well made and easy to assemble (simply attach the little legs using provided screws). The thing is heavy enough so it doesn’t move around while unrolling the hose. Excellent quality!
