Solid construction and easy to install. I am sure my front door is now more secure now. Drilling thru tile and then concrete. I thought the collar for the ground was a bit short in depth. Going to tap it deeper and put the collar in when I am not gone for long intervals.

I was excited about this product and had initially only decided to make the hole in my concrete large enough for the bolt to go through, but then I thought it would make it nice looking to install the dust canisters. Well, that was a huge mistake! First of all, the hole that I had to drill was MUCH larger than I was comfortable with, but when I started drilling, there was no turning back. Once I got the holes drilled, I installed the dust canisters but then realized that I could easily pull them out -- and with 5 younger boys, there's not a chance in the world that I would be okay with that since they would eventually go missing. So I decided to glue them in using liquid nail. But turns out that there is a hole in the bottom of the dust canister so the liquid nail got inside the canister and destroyed it. Now I'm left with a large hole in my concrete for a small bolt without the dust cover. If nothing else, more dust will get in there now. Aside from that stupid design, the bolt itself is awesome and very well built!

With all the measurements and pictures I still was not prepared for how hefty this latch is. We were planning on using it to secure one side of a set of french doors but it is overkill. Also, the recessed "dust canister" is a little big for my liking. I know it has to have some slack but it allows for some slight rattling. Not a big deal, especially if you are not using it in your installation. Since we would have to drill a big hole for this purpose, we chose not to use it. Glad it came with a secondary latching option that we were able to use on an exterior door. A little pricey but may be worth it in the long run.
