The locking bar is very rigid and sturdy but is also wrapped in soft material so as to prevent scratching the bike frame. This is hefty as well and innovative in such a way that it allows for 2 ways to lock it via combination or thumbprint. It comes with an instruction sheet for programming as well as a charging cable for the electronic feature. Both locking mechanism have plastic rigid slide covers for protection from the elements. The directions and images for programming fingerprints and changing the combination code are clear as mud. That said, once I figured it out, it is easy enough to program and use. The lock is very heavy duty and would require more than a bolt cutter to cut through it. Due to the design of my e-bike, the included mounting bracket would not fit beneath the seat, so I have to secure the lock to the rear rack while cycling. I think at thirty-nine bucks, this biometric lock is a solid deal. ... show more

This lock was even larger than I expected, and I think it would be very difficult to cut through with regular bolt cutters. It can fit around your bike in multiple places, which makes it easy to lock up when you're stopping (such as locking it through your tire to keep it from rotating. The smart feature is cool, although personally I prefer the more analog methods like the combination. It is quite heavy, so I'm not sure I will always want to carry it with me, but maybe something to leave locked to the bike rack where you ride to every day. I love everything about this lock, it's really easy to setup and use and so much more convenient then regular bike locks. Fingerprint scanner is actually quite reliable, recognizes perfectly almost every time and even if the battery dies you can still use the number code to unlock it. Charges fairly quick and the battery lasts a bunch of uses. Fits pretty good even on kids bikes. It is a little on the heavy side but that's a good thing, feels very durable and secure, it even looks like good quality even to the naked eye. Compatible for many different uses, Works good for large bikes, kids bikes, even e-bikes. Really cool lock for the price, id definitely recommend this. ... show more
